I got this guitar in 1987, I think she were 76 then I stupidly sold ... huge mistake of youth, since I'm paying a dream again! Made in the USA, Easel fixed a handle super nice and the handle is one of the Flying V for those who have practiced.
There is a selector which offers coupled microphones or microphones isolate donations lot of different sounds, it added to a switch that I can not say more but that is somewhat similar to the system of Hagstrom (also very good guitars for elsewhere!) that boosts more or less the solutions proposed by the first selector ... the absolute versatility, great bass and midrange ...
Funny thing to Mount taste, it was designed in partnership with Ron Wood and has not met the success apparently certainemen t as "purist" Gibson did not find very representative of the mark but if you tomez top , buy it without hesitation, the coast fairly low (at 6 months there, she was sold 900 euros with a hard, black model, less fun) you will make a very nice purchase you will not regret!
Finally, to know everything about her 5 years of production (1975 to 1980) here is a page that summarizes the history and its various updates:

UTILIZATION
Channel gégial absolutely, it feels good, just as thick as it is for me anyway!
It is not too heavy, just a hair below the lespaul, access is typical of the acute form lespaul, I remember being very surprised to realize that it sounded quite strongly "unplugged" and c ' is nice!
It has the profile of the vintage guitar, beautiful varnished wood, she was also in black! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibson_S-1
in this color, the varnish is allowed to skate, it seems quite fine!
SOUNDS
Absolutely beautiful .... a very unusual guitar at Gibson, the meeting of lespaul and the best of Fender, but with much more rounded, warm harmonics. the game "funk" is a nice echo here is superb blues, jazz, everything in its place .... it makes you want to play and play again because of its mellow sound, it has a very small Twage nice, bright sound and dynamic! I think it sums up the guitar! She gave me a bit like having a sort of "reverb" certainly due to the presence of these very special microphones!
Potentiometers sontde good qualities, it's very very good thing ... apart from last métaleus for whom Bill Lawrence pickups (one large rectangular magnets surrounded by its coil of wire visible) are not saturated enough I guess ! But for the hard to AC DC, vintage, garage, noisy great!
OVERALL OPINION
You understood, I never saw him and I regret every day!
For me, the most beautiful guitar I have had or tried, it gave me the memory of a very special guitar sound with very distinctive vintage adorable and a good quality instrument that you can certainly find a nice ... take charge if you meet her for sale!
At the time I was 17 years and have been tried and had a lot of other guitars, it is my point of reference especially for some 2000 francs lépoque!
makes her look endearing, even if this switch microphones is not the most aesthetic, it will enchant you. Curious that she did not do more than emulate developed or the Gibson quickly removed from the catalog! There also is a Marauder with a hubumker S1 and microphones at Laurence, less pretty but must also have a great interest from the standpoint sound!
I put around 9, I would have put 10
