Bring the battery:

Name: Gibson
Name: BFG
Nationality: United States of course
Color: Cherry (I would have preferred a Black but good, hard to come by these days)
Features: Dual microphone acute neck single coil. No vibrato.
Channel: a branch, although larger and rougher well to polish the skin of the hand.

for the rest of my comrades previous posts have already summed up the picture of the baby in question.

Quick History: Gibson for some time trying to return to the niche occupied by the "copier" LTD which has taken over part of the market. Gibson gives results in the "destroy" in the "jeunz of" playing to the Metal of jneuz. The look of the guitars to follow. in the case of the BFG is also one of the important points for choosing this guitar, its appearance is taken into account in its accessibility (see below).

UTILIZATION

This is where Gibson is "correct" if I may say so, a fault become a feature of the Les Paul: an enormous weight that you just warp back after several months of rehearsals, but participating in the musical identity of the instrument.

So recently, some of the creations of Gibson are dug. In some ways eased fairly sensitive.
The direct result: a sound that would happen almost amp (I said almost). This was my first pleasant surprise by trying it. No need to connect it to hear you purring in the guts.

As soon as you tell yourself that once connected, it must still have an impact.

And then there is no picture of velvet. (More details below).

Before detailing the sound so I continued on ergonomics.

Leaving a '76 Explorer, it changes a lot. shape, size, weight and especially the handle.

There is no varnish and as they say here some: it is rougher, the fear of hanging.
I hung already personal with the sleeve of my varnish Explorer (grime concerts, humidity, etc. ..).
I thought that indeed it would make things even more difficult.

Here's an idea quickly swept away by a few hours on the machine: no problem to move, it runs by itself, or better than the varnish. Let me explain: the aspect of "porous" wood, that moisture evaporates very quickly by hand and personally I have gained in fluidity of play

Access to acute: good to be honest when you buy a Les Paul should not have any illusions, access to this part of the handle is never easy. Also in comparison with the Explorer, I did not feel much difference. Up 15-16 the box is still correct, go beyond immediate force held the handle different, that after a history of taste and habit. if you have to play a round of solo and not come complaining.

I will join still a negative comment for access to the pickup selector a little to the west, behind the buttons of volume and tone. Not super convenient switch regularly.

Unlike the killsiwtch (a very good idea) would could be at that place (it smells like hack into the body of the guitar soon to fix it: D)

SOUNDS

Sound: not looking for a medium on this guitar, there is no or very little. its spectrum switches from a sharp gain very hot, well detailed with a wealth quite impressive for such a scratch. And a mass grave sweeping you in the face as soon as you switch on the microphone serious. The difficulty is then (as often on a Les Paul or Explorer) to play with the volume knobs for the pieces. To take a shot, that I had on the Explorer.

My style, I would have to define my style. making recovery Rock, it affects all my faith and I both managed to adapt to the Blur of Stones, such as ACDC, the Ulgy Kid Joe or Steppenwolf. Some problems of clarity on its funkiest rhythm (but good Fender is not here for that).

It was tested on a Marshall JCM2000 studio, clear, crunch as lead. Hard not to find satisfaction.

Its strong point that it finally made me feel better (for now) is this multitude of details in each note lead.
Rhythmically it is square, it breaks not, for the metal, it défourraille well while avoiding its too cold Rican typed Jackson or Ibanez (especially recent).

A little trouble with the bass sometimes too bold for some time aclimatation will be required to learn to know her.

OVERALL OPINION

I owned a 1997 Gibson Explorer '76 in 8 years that I kept. I am separated because I felt more comfortable on it and after testing several Les paul I really had a better feeling on it. The Explorer was very good, but too Péchu at times. So welcome exit Explorer and Les Paul BFG

I bought the beast itself, three days ago, so it's a hot view. At first I was a little confused, I even thought I would regret my purchase. I tested again for 3 hours. my mistake: playing with the strap set for the old guitar, result: a bad position and difficulty to play.

Some mechanical and a few inches (strap) above, I found the right place between her and me. I managed it on things I was struggling to pass on the old (and yet I love the Explorer).
I will say that I love most: it simply a soul. This extreme heat. crachotte it a little when we do not know how too tame. just the same "problem" fishing microphones as the original Explorer.

The bass is super heavy, so have to think to play the volume. The highs are pure Gibson style, on a canal in 2000 JCM crunch with just winning 2-3, which is going out live ACDC.

Been tested on my poor dung Park 10 watts (ah ben neighbors love him more than 80), I was quite surprised to have come to the "acceptable" on this type of amp.

I got new (street Douet, thank you Universal) with fly and Straplock matching (black) € 820 for all, given its starting price (end 2007), it seems to me rather a good deal. However, with such a scratching sound personality for less than € 1,000 it becomes rare. Here is Gibson's guarantees, so why deprive yourself.

However, I think investing in a guitar darker and colder (type Ibanez 7-string)

For the notice with experience, I will return in a few months to tell you, even if I already have an idea.
