Earthworks Microphones will debut its first wireless product, the WL40V Wireless Vocal Microphone Capsule, at AES this year.
The WL40V, as well as microphones from the rest of Earthworks lineup, will be at the 131st AES Convention in New York City, October 21–23, Booth #645.
The WL40V has been adapted in wireless capsule form from the SR40V Vocal Microphone released earlier this year. Designed to maintain the same sound as its wired counterpart, the WL40V delivers a vocal sound said by Earthworms to require “little to no EQ.” It features hypercardioid polar pattern; the wireless capsule is interchangeable with any screw-on-type handheld transmitters that receive a 31.3mm/pitch 1.0mm threading, such as those from Lectrosonics, Line 6 and Shure.
The WL40V will be available through authorized Earthworks dealers Q1 2012, and like all Earthworks microphones, will come with a 15 year warranty.
