The Atlas Sound SB36W is a heavy duty microphone stand designed for use in professional studios. The SB36W is without exaggeration, the best microphone stand that I've used to date. I've used it with all types of different, very expensive microphones, and it does the job better than any other microphone stand out there. While most microphone stands will do the job fine most of the time, if you're in a professional studio environment, it is absolutely necessary to have a heavy, high quality stand to keep your microphones in place. Oh, it also has wheels on the bottom so you can easily move it around.
OVERALL OPINION
Almost every larger professional studio that I've worked in has at least one or two Atlas Sound SB36W's. They are always the first stand to be used, especially for vocal microphones or when doing any other types of overdubs. They also are perfect for drum overheads, as they are easy to hang microphones upside down from. Basically, they can be used for any sort of recording application, as they are simply the best around and can be manipulated for anything you might want to do with them. Atlas Sound is the best in the business when it comes to high quality stands and accessories, so you're going to be paying for than usual for the SB36W's and other products from Atlas, but in my opinion it is definitely worth it, especially for a professional studio. You really only need one or two of them, as these aren't the types of stands you need to have a lot of. The way that I use them is for the most important applications if I have a lot of mics up, as most studios I've used them in only have one or two of them anyway. The bottom line is that if you're looking for the best microphone stand that you can get, definitely go with the Atlas Sound SB36W, as I can pretty much guarantee that you'll be satisfied!
