According to The Loop Loft, “the pocket” is defined as that very special place where the beat sits – the space between the notes – the ghost notes between the backbeats. All of this is said to play a special role and to make the difference between a “stale” drum loop and one that instantly makes a track feel right.
With Pocket Drums Vol 1, The Loop Loft claims to have produced the first MIDI drum library entirely devoted to the pocket, with a total six different sessions (each focusing on a different vibe) all organized into verses, choruses and fills.
If their names may evoke anything (and they often do), sessions include:
- 707 Pocket
- Big Blues
- Future EFX
- In The Cut
- Power Pocket
- Session Ace
Available for a MSRP of $29, The Loop Loft’s Pocket Drums Vol 1 is currently available for one week at the special intro price of $19.
