Toontrack has just released AOR Grooves MIDI and AOR EZkeys MIDI, two collections of MIDI files dedicated to the AOR (Adult-Oriented Rock) genre. Both banks are heavily inspired by bands like Toto, The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan and many more.
AOR Grooves MIDI addresses those looking for drum grooves in the styles of Jeff Porcaro, Bernard Purdie and Steve Gadd. Played by session drummer Norman Garschke, it features over 300 individually played files in 4/4 and 6/8 (straight and/or swing feel) and tempos ranging from 71 to 160 BPM. Song structure categorization (intro, verse, chorus, bridge, etc) is included. Designed to work with EZdrummer, EZdrummer 2 and Superior Drummer 2, it is optimized for kits including 1 kick, 1 snare, 1 tom, 1 floor tom, 2 crash cymbals, 1 ride cymbal.
As for AOR EZkeys MIDI, it is describes as a comprehensive collection of playing variations ranging all the way from big ballads and syncopated shuffles to beat-driven uptempo material. It offers (an unspecified number of) 4/4, 6/8 and 12/8 variations in straight and/or swing feel, including various structure sections (intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus and bridge).
Whether you’re looking for a virtual drummer or piano player, each of theses banks is available for €25. More details at www.toontrack.com.
