SMPTE

Flat: Alim 9V external power, they should integrate the power supply into the rack.

UTILIZATION

Before using this interface, I managed to configure my USB hardware to exploit their MIDI output to drive my old racks (without usb noon).

Installed in a jiffy Vista SP2, the drivers seem stable. They seem to be updated to Seven.
ES MIDI work as simply as possible.

I do not manipé SMPTE (see other reviews on this topic).

OVERALL OPINION

Easy to install (Vista SP2) and does what it needs to do unlike other MIDI interfaces ...

With the eighth / s I have no connection dilemma noon when I bought an old rack noon.

This type of tool is essential when you have more than 4 gnrateurs audio and / or multi-effects driven by noon.
I do not use SMPTE.

UTILIZATION

Drivers (W2K) trs stable although rarely updated.
The interface has not saturated but sometimes encounters a problem at boot (USB signal is not recognized). Just stain the rack and on again to return everything to normal.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this interface from 2 years ago, with two successive informatqiues config.
Too bad the 8 MIDI in / out either in front (I prfr derrire all connections!)
Too bad there is not some MIDI ports supplmentaires.
Good interface, solid, srieuse, and slightly less than the competition CHRE (the date when I bought it).

4 synths + 2 multi-effects (BOSS SX 700 and TC M300) + 1 guitar pedal (Tonelab SE)
It was therefore at least 7 MIDI I / O ....
Under USB, why not ...
With ca not always need to change wiring.
Motherboard and Intel CPU (P4, 3GHz)

UTILIZATION

While stable, but the XP install should go on the net because it is a bit unusual (in fact during the install it to repeat the same manipulations Faur several times).

I already had the M-Audio hardware, and their hot-line is effective (that too is important!)
I would have preferred all the I / O on the back instead of having one at the front but ... -1 Still to score.

I needed a generator to control a SMPTE LTC Optifile Tetra automation, and I also need new ports noon.

External transformer, new face less garish than the picture (now gray / black stylish enough), the presence of port to host very convenient for irreducible old mac / atari / old pc.

UTILIZATION

I mean you can receive SMPTE, which is directly converted to Midi Time Code, which synchronizes any sequencer (the latter in slave mode).
on the other hand, to generate SMPTE you must press the button "Write" of the beast, the SMPTE scrolls (the starting TC is adjustable in one application dedicated to midisport). But if you want the MTC to SMPTE sequencer so the midisport: impossible.

Tip: you must connect the SMPTE output on an audio sequencer, and record the signal on a track. We must put the sequencer in slave mode to track TC TC TC are synchronized with the sequencer.
Then when a "tracker" the sequencer, it returns to the master, and just leave the signal (only) by TC track a separate output of your audio interface, and swing it in the device synchronize (automation Optifile for me).
