Ibanez SR 705
Published on 03/12/05 at 15:00I accquired this from a london music shop for £480
I love the way this bass looks, its dark oil finish and black hardware make it look very classy, and its light, balances well, and the has a nice flat slim low profile neck and the fact its made in japan is a bonus
ok, firstly the frets buzz, despite playing around with the action, adjusting the neck and fret work, it still buzzed, the sound isnt great, the sound is always a really stringy high treble sound or a boxed in stringy muffled sound, and i dont know where the sustain is but its not here, but to be fair it does have a certain amount of punch but dissapears quickly, a real dissapointment, plus when you play you can hear the frets …Read moreI accquired this from a london music shop for £480

its constructed quite solidly and the bridge is nice and strong, its a bolt on body and its bolted on with 4 bolts.
well i have to say i was dissapointed with this bass, and i sold it, it looks nice and is nicely balanced but limited tone options, percussive, and the frets buzz alot, no sustain, i wouldnt reccomend this bass, i bought myself a musicman after buying this, and they are worlds apart, my advice would be to look for something else than this particular ibanez

Ibanez Sr 705
Published on 01/31/05 at 15:00i got this from my local music shop, it cost me £479
as far as i know ibanez dont make the sr 705 anymore, i was lucky to find it in a shop, basically it had sat in the cellar and was forgotten about, i love the dark mahogany finish and the black hardware, gives the bass an aggressive look, the 5 piece maple and rosewood neck is very fast and slim for a five string neck and the profile on the neck is fantastic, action is nice and low aswell, , it balances well and the neck doesnt dive, the sound is strong and i can get a really stringy sound or a fat bassline out of it, so soundwise its fairly versatile, it also came equipped with elixir strings and not cheap junky strings

i have experienced a little fret buzz when i play this bass acoustically but it doesnt buzz through the amp, being that its a wood finish which i really like, it is, unfortunately, easily marked if your not careful, the bridge had a slight green streak running through it, so im changing it, other than that no complaints
construction feels solid, bass is medium weight and looks well built, neck is bolted on with four bolts, bridge is strong and easily adjusted
basically a great all round bass, if u can get your hands on one then i reccommend you get it, seeing as japanese ibanez basses are becoming increasingly rare so im guessing it will retain its value quite well, its basically a poor mans warwick,

Handle very easy to play, not too big, not too fine, no problem ACCS up dernire the box.
The ergonomics are perfect, nothing wrong, it is quite heavy but the balance is good, it is not tiring to play. It is well thought trs Japanese what

The sound is standard and trs versatile, I think we can do anything with, large ultra nag Metal to Jazz as soft. The output level is also Balze, the microphones are really trs good, sounds good a balance between the strings.

OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 3 years and this is my low prfre. I test in a lot of conditions, the small rad 'with the big scne 10 people outdoors to 10,000 pilgrims and each time I found my sound, it is never muddy, no matter the amplifier (on the Ampeg's magic), it always comes out good grace the trs active EQ. I tried two times lower that Chres taient 2 times less.
My next bass will be even an Ibanez SR from home!See less50 - toineblitzPublished on 08/03/08 at 08:32 (This content has been automatically translated from French)Made in korea, 24 frets on a handle 5 pieces jatoba and bubinga all concerned.
there are 2 Bartolini MK1 micro (neck and bridge) with a 3-band Bartolini equoilisateur (yes again) with a volume and tone. The body is mahogany with a flamed maple table.
is an active bass.
UTILIZATION
We will do the right stick is a simple perfection both in terms of accessibility of playability
the bass is very light and balanced.
action is very low and the sound is easy to obtain.
only negative the gap between the strings makes the slap a little harder (but not imposible) and it does not go in all the Cases for. (I know it's ridiculous but I love to quibble)

SOUNDS
I plugged into an Ibanez SW100 and the least we can say is that this bass is in place in all styles of music.
SI is clean and tidy, Bartolini electronics home does wonders, are the possibilities of its large and yet in a second one has the desire.
But it's a rather "modern".
OVERALL OPINION
I use depuit one week and I do not think I ever troubadour big flaw of this low, to believe that there are none, for that matter even if there were large defects, it justifies its purchase anything that's not her.
before I try a LTD, a Yamaha and another IBANEZ SR 705 but the largely surpassed.
for less than € 800 I think its very good value for money.
I can remake that choice without problemSee less30
