UTILIZATION

This is one amazing instrument, all the way around. The first thing that hit me was how nice the wood and finish were - this looks like incredibly high-end work. Granted, this is not a cheap bass, but the woods and finish of this axe look like something costing much more. Playability-wise, this bass absolutely smokes! Any kind of technique I wanted to play was effortless on this.

SOUNDS

These Bartolinis paired with the EQ circuit Ibanez has come up with are a really special combination. Any type of sound, modern, vintage, avant garde...this bass can come up with a tone that is not just passable, but spot-on. I can't think of a genre this bass wouldn't be perfect for. The low B was tight, clear, and massive.

OVERALL OPINION

This is a fantastic instrument, bar none. This could be a perfect choice for all but the absolutely most discriminating world-class pro, and most of those guys are picky enough to play their own signature models anyways! I am a huge fan of this bass, and I would highly recommend any bassist of any experience level to check it out. Overall a 10, based upon price point. But I'd still give it a 10 if it was twice as much!
