Best value: Excellent
So for me, it comes directly from the US and is manufactured in California.

The bridge is a Musicman any beautée, through-strings, dampers, it exudes tough brief.

The neck is maple "birdseye" on my version with the key in the same essence. The whole is protected by a high-gloss varnish very pleasant to the touch as to look. It has 21 frets and it seems to me a humbucker in the bridge position. In terms of settings, it is simple and effective, a volume, bass and treble to cut / boost without midpoint (a little confusing to navigate settings, that's why I would puts a 9 / 10)

UTILIZATION

The handle is nice and easy to play for a 5 string. We feel we are in the high end. The fingers arise by themselves on the ropes and the passage of my 4 string 5 string to this I was not more disturbed than that.

Access to acute is pretty good although I do not play often at this point in the race. But in all cases the body of the bass does not prevent hand access to the latest boxes.

In sound ... How to say ... That's what musicman! One feels the presence of the low when playing in groups, it takes the guts! For I have the booster against a little lower midrange to find a sound I like but every bass has its own characteristics. In any case, it does not take me long to find the right settings for my sound.

SOUNDS

I play rock and I think it's the ultimate weapon for this style stingray! The sound is very defined and I think the bass is hyper reactive. If the string sounds of thunder Grave but may be lacking a bit of sustain ... To see over time as I did that for several days.
I play on an amp EBS HD 350 with two 4x10 and 1x15 cabinets in the same brand. It's breath away ^ ^
This bass has made me rediscover some effects that did not sound terrible before. For example my mini Qtron is completely changed with the stingray buttocks ... It sounds funky to death :-)

OVERALL OPINION

I use only a few days, but I think I'm not ready to part with it! (It's been a while since I drool on the stingray and that there would have been slow to have it!)

I played on many different basses, I have a Sandberg PM4, a warwick double buck $ $ 4c and 4c in a jazz bass. At 5-string before I had a Cort B5 but that it has nothing to do ... P

ar against, I had the opportunity to test 5 or 6 stingray "normal" 5-string in a store the same day on the same amp and there were huge differences in the ... So be careful when buying a stingray. It is not the same all!

As against this version of "classic" violin making is not really the same as the versions "normal". It is worth its weight in peanuts this classic (despite the amount to pay to acquire it, but in the end there is not much difference in terms of price with the standard versions and the quality is really not the same ).

If not at the level of + + +: Son, violin, strings through-the 5th string ringing, the dampers, the handle ...

--- In terms of: the absence of knobs on the center point, the weight (a little heavy, provide a good belt) but it is very well balanced quickly forget what makes this small "defect".

For value, I think it is very good price or I could get the bass ... Next, the actual price of sale in France, I think the price is a bit much ... In any case, value for money, she is lovely. And when one loves, one does not count! ;-)
