« Perfect in every way »
Published on 01/27/11 at 08:37Lower jointly designed and produced in his studio by Arnaud Quérey end of 2010.
Mahogany body (from Martinique) and monoblock monoblock table also flamed maple. Channel 24 frets asymmetric semiconductor 3-piece flamed maple and rosewood veneer between. ebony
Micro-made Hepcat, type 2 singles and 1 single contiguous JazzBass JazzBass type. the microphone and microphone severe acute are positioned as a JazzBass (distance to the bridge).
Schaller bridge brass thru body or not (selon. ..)
Aguilar OBP-3 preamp.
Key Gotoh.
Settings:
a double-storey volume potentiometer (one for the microphone and one for severe acute double), a rotoswitch 3 positions which allows for the double is the only acute microwave, or 2 in parallel (type Musicman) either in series . A passive tone knob with on / off switch in the preamp. potentiometer-floor double bass / treble preamp, and with a simple switch to the medium (400/800hz switch).
UTILIZATION
The handle was carved out, it is perfect (for me). handle slightly asymmetrical (thicker on the lower strings). weight distribution is very comfortable, access to acute without difficulty. it sounds even disconnected ..-).
SOUNDS
Fairly eclectic taste, classically trained (cello) and bit of the officiating in other styles so. I love the round sound and accurate at the bottom with the grain. I do not like when we "hear" the mail (hence the choice of Aguilar, transparent), for me it serves to correct the defects of the room acoustics (with an amplification system according to the same environment , style ... it sounds like never). I play on a Walter Woods head Electracoustic on a hp Epifani 12 "or an Eden 4x10". The idea with this was to design a low JazzBass coupled with a musicman, which can be passive or active. I have on hand this and much more.
OVERALL OPINION
It is custom made. Design, weight, wood, characteristic of the handle, choice of microphones settings ... I agree completely, violin Arnaud, the gloss and satin on the neck were also perfect. I feel like I have always played this instrument. I do not see what it would be to change to improve it.
