« Yamaha BB G5 »
Published on 12/22/04 at 15:00Please see my review "BB 405 4-knob".
The sales slip and hang tag for my [used]
bass say it's a BB 405, but I'm becoming
more convinced that it's really a BB G5,
which, as far as I can tell so far, is
the same "woodwork" as a BB 405 but has
entirely different PUs and electronics,
thus the other review specifying [titled]
"Yamaha BB405 4-knob".
Originally, I'd thought that mine was an
earlier version, that current 405's were
"economized" versions of the older, but
now I think mine is really a BB G5.
see other review. sorry for title error.

If you are considering a BB G5, this is
a pointer to a G5 review that was given
a wrong title. Anyway it's easy to play
and affordably priced, but it's voice is
possibly an "acquired taste".
