I use MIDIpal 1 month ago about and I have not tried other material of this type, in fact I do not know. Except perhaps the Zillion Future Retro that just came out and more expensive it seems ...

The MIDIpal features and possibilities of use are many and varied, see website for more details: https://mutable-instruments.net/midipal

This little box is a set of applications both in the field of the utility of the creative tool. It is these two aspects of the product can remember in particular.

On the one hand, it can serve noon filter dispatcher that offers the possibility of constructing a polyphonic synth from a set of monophonic synths, monitor, splitter, clock, lfo ... and is perfectly usefulness in a hardware configuration a bit "esoteric" but not only.

On the other hand, it is also a tool for composition and it is especially this aspect that interested me. It features an arpeggiator, sequencer with 32 not assignable CC values for each step, a randomizer, midi delay ...

The idea is to connect the input of MIDIpal, keyboard or sequencer to send the output to an expander, a BAR, a sampler .... It can also be used in "standalone" for MIDI or a clock that lfo CC module, brief ... This is awesome and very well thought out, you can also download the source program in Python on Github (for experts) and flash the device with its own modifications but now I pass the hand ...

What I like most is its versatility. Its price / quality ratio is very reasonable. I remake that choice without problem, in fact I love it so much my MIDIpal I'll probably buy another one!
