A little introduction is needed first.
The sound of the game boy is synthesized by a small generator which produces 8-bit sound on four channels.

This software allows to use the gameboy as a synthesizer with stepsequencer.
It has 16 time (classical) and 4 generators:

-2 Channels square one with a variation called pulse width (square wave asymmetric)
-1 White noise channel
-1 Channels configurable which synthesizes a waveform by adding harmonics (like an organ what)

On each beat of each channel is slightly varying one parameter of its pitch, decay, volume, panning, modulation, FM, filter, ...
So it is for the pattern editor (editor of the reasons)

There is also a song editor that allows to arrange a serie of patterns
One can synchronize with a midi cable GameLink doctored.

Installation is done it without problems?
you put the cartridge is lighter and it works

The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
No need for manual, even a child can use it.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

What is the configuration of your computer? (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Disk / sound card ..)
Game Boy DMG-01 ordered on the website of nonelectronic with modification kits (backlit display, improved audio output ,...)

The software works he correctly on this configuration?
Okay but do not take another gameboy if you want to sound, others have little bass and a signal-noise really not good.

This software + hardware is stable?
More stable you die, just as people in transit from your doubts, especially those who have an iphone.

For how long have you been using it?
One year on a Game Boy and then I buy the kite mentioned previously

What thing do you like most/least about it?
The simple FM sounds 8bits

What is your opinion about the value for the price?
Ca € 58 cartridge is expensive but when you see the price of blank cartridges, it's still honest

In conclusion

There are several musical interests to make music on a gameboy:

-1's Funny
-2 Is simple and limited (AC avoids being dispersed) with Nanoloop
-3 The sound of the game boy as everyone knows is so culturally recognized musical sound that is difficult to compare with others.

For me making music only with the old computer is not my cup of tea.
But using a variety of different sounds I like very much. In my compositions I use it in fact always and only with other instruments as well as my kalimba, melodica, pandeiro, glockenspiel, ... etc..
