UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice ... maybe a little wider than a gibson ... but so little ... it has to play 2 or 3 millimeters ...
Access to acute is no problem.
This skyscraper has good ergonomics, it weighs about 4 pounds ... which is not huge but can be tiring when used long standing ...
The sound level ... MOUAHA! the sound of the sixties at home ...
In fact, the tone control is done on the two switches (3 position), two volume buttons (one for each of the two microphones + a master volume)
Disadvantage: can not set "precisely" ... these are settings "preset"
advantage not need a lot of neurons to see which config will give a warm or else a more clear ...
Finally, we come to get very different sounds ... but especially his "gretsch" ... with all its own identity ...
For less than 800 euros, we have a gretsch at home ... and just for that ...

SOUNDS

I was looking for a jazz guitar full typed ... but able to do other things ...
This guitar is perfect for my needs.
I have no amp, in fact, I go directly into the sound card and uses a type AmpliTube amp emulation (perfect result).
The types of sound: good, not a guitar for metalheads, that's for sure!
on the other hand if you know the song gainsbourg "the girl with a razor" and "Laetitia", and you like the guitar sounds in the background, this guitar is for you, she is quite capable of producing such sound ...
We arrive at the fire a very "pure", very jazzy ... the pickups do their job, they are capable of a certain roundness and finesse at a time ...
The seller told me: "The advantage of a gretsch is that you can have the roundness of a gibson and a fender foil" ... he wanted to sell me his guitar! ... but it's not quite true ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a month ... and it's already a great love story.
The best: the beauty of the beast, especially for the price ... (For a lower price, we pro ... jet mini humbuckers, good but not great ... with mechanical low-end, it will, anyway, to be replaced ... replace the microphones is difficult in view of their form ... "original" ... which requires a violin work ... again, the Bigsby the Electromatic Pro jet is less well made than that presented here ...)
Here, then, no need for "customization" ...
Before buying it, I tried a washburn hollow body home, another home Michael Perry (also good), one of the very latest Yamaha (very good product !)... uh ... an Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty (3 microphones), the Electromatic Pro Jet Bigsby.
My preferences were for "Perry", very nice to play both at the neck that sounds ... The Epiphone Black Beauty is also a good scratch, but unable to give the sound I was looking for ... then, when I came across the Elliot Easton (very hard to find elsewhere ... limited edition apparently ...)... there ... there ... it was love at first sight immediately upon taking control of the camera ... beeeelllle is, it gives her a puuuuur ... and it costs not that expensive! Consider that for a model with higher Gretsch, it goes directly to over 2000 euros ...
In fact, the only downside to this notice ... is the shield that is too high is that the gene plays a little when the arpeggio ... but it is a detail view of the quality of all.
I bought the Elliot Easton euos 759 (it was a small step, which I won a reduction of 40 euros plus a well-padded bag provided, 2 sets of strings and a small collection of picks ...
So ... roughly the value for money is more than excellent!
After more than a year of practice on the beast, I can say that the choice I would do without hesitation!
If you like the Gretsch, and you have the budget and the chance to find one: do not hesitate!
