« Kramer Standard »

Published on 11/04/06 at 15:00
I've played guitar for close to 15 years.

I got this Kramer 'Standard' from www.musicyo.com. I payed $169 (on sale).

What do I like most. Could you please ask a harder question? (some sarcasm for you). Wow, I guess the thing I like the most about this is that the price they are selling this is so INSANELY CHEAP for the top-shelf quality. I cannot believe I even thought about getting a Gibson or an Epiphone. This Kramer is IT for my Les Paul fix. Every detail is emaculate. The finish is gorgeous, pics on the net do NOT do justice. The parts are great. The pickups are amazing. The body design is a little different from a Gibson/Epiphone in that the cutaway tip is sharper rather than rounded (which I like a lot). It's a little closer to the ESP 'LP' bodied guitars. The back has what musicyo is calling "Kramer Designed Body Scarfing" which is like the back of a Strat style guitar. It's more comfortable and hangs better on the body.

The ONLY thing I didn't like was the stock strings it came with. The gauge is too thin for my taste. I'm hoping the nut (graphite by the way, awesome) is cut big enough for a heavier gauge. I like to use 10s and I think this one comes with 9s maybe.

Outstanding, Awesome, Stupendous, Heavenly...I could go on. You couldn't ask for better finish. The neck is beautiful. The frets are polished to perfection. The inlays are gorgeous.

Buy this, buy this, buy this!!! Don't you dare think about spending $500 or more on an Epiphone, or more for a Gibson until you check this out first. You will save tons. Even with regular price the thing is less than $250 which I would gladly pay.
