Made in China under French control (Lag is a French brand, and yes, based in Bédarieux in Herault) this guitar has a general appearance that leaves a favorable impression of hand. The finishes are impeccable.
The body shape "stratabound" is solid basswood, the handle 24 frets and fingerboard are maple.
, but has the merit of not tune the guitar when used, as is unfortunately often in other brands.
The Lag of mechanical oil bath, gentle action.

UTILIZATION

The combination of lime and maple give a guitar with a surprisingly low weight at first contact, but we are quickly reassured: the instrument not connected already has a very good sustain, even if the volume is moderate, as c is usually the case with the solid-body guitars.
The two bevels on the body of the instrument (front and rear) allow proper positioning of the instrument and the forearm, sitting as standing.
The handle is relatively flat (nothing to do with my Les Paul!) And fun to play without the need for time to adapt. The cutaway and shape of the heel allow free access to the latest special concern boxes.

SOUNDS

Once connected, the configuration 3 single-coil / 5-way switch provides a range of interesting sounds. The sounds range from sweet and clear sound (a feast for the game arpeggios) to sound "rock" a lot sharper. Certainly, fans of "big sound" heavy and hard will be disappointed, but this guitar is not for these music styles requiring humbuckers rather than single.
But the Country to Rock through the Blues (with a bottleneck, super), either alone or in rhythm, this guitar provides smoothly and the settings are in a very intuitive thanks to the relevance of electronic adopted here.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this guitar as an alternative to my Les Paul (Gibson sound very typical not be suitable all the time), and I do not regret my purchase. This instrument supports without blushing comparison with other prestigious names, no doubt, but unfortunately the purchase is often the "lottery" given the huge differences in quality within the same brand (it says after trying a bunch of Squier among others ...).
Of course, for € 230 you will not have a Start. 62 ', but the quality / price ratio offered by this guitar is very interesting.
I advise beginners first guitar as seen ease of play, and more experienced guitarists who already have a guitar more "upscale" and are looking for a second instrument to vary their playing style (open-tuning ...) or their sounds. )
