Value For Money : Excellent
Made in Korea
Channel 22 frets, key palisandre
body and handle all-Mahogany
flamed maple table (very nice)
Tune-O-Matic / Stop bar
3 pos selector., 1 vol., 1 tone. (which is the split)
Seymour Duncan United States (Duncan not design!)

UTILIZATION

Channel pleasant, more stylish than Ibanez Gibson (quite round)
good access to the latest boxes
it is a bit tiring to play seated because of its shape (the weight is back)
knobs progressive and very well placed
Still a little heavy in the long run (acajou. ..)

SOUNDS

Rather typical blues-rock Hard as this one to its huge skyscrapers.
Once the connection is to the sound. (Thank you Seymour)
The neck pickup is warm and round, he sounds "so light" the smallest transistor amp!
splits it provided a very clear sound, ideal for arpeggios.
The bridge pickup is biting and very rich in harmonics (nickel for a solo, or a punchy rhythm), too much interest in Split.
The central position of the selector brings the quality of the two microphones (warmth and good definition).

OVERALL OPINION

Purchased in the month of December 2003, this guitar is, without doubt, the best quality / price ratio in this range (€ 580, with very good leather strap, jack (just sucks), and case excellent).
I have tried many guitars in the same spirit which, of course, the Epiphone Les Paul Plus standardized. Epiphone and may be ashamed, in front of so many qualities: better equipment, better wood (all mahogany and maple beautiful table for the Whale), and especially, much better sound (and below).

In terms of defects, there are just a few (very small) details of finishes, but at this price, do not dream.
