Published on 10/30/01 at 15:00I purchased this amp at Spotts music center, my local music store in Dubois, PA. I paid $699.00 for it and it is worth every cent.
I love the versitility of having 16 different amp models in one, and also having 16 digital effects on board. This amp has got it all. The two 12" speakers can scream out any metal distortion leed you can throw at them, and with the push of a button or tap of the foot switch (DXFC midi foot controller) you can be strummin a folk tune that would turn James Taylors head.
There is nothing to dislike about this amp.
Quality construction from top to bottom, this is not an amp for the meek at heart, your gonna have to eat your wheaties to carry this bad boy around. It's heavy, but it comes with a sturdy handle. Also it looks good. It has your basic black exterior with a copper face and copper weave through the speaker screen.
My thoughts on this amp are from sweet to screamin and everything in between. Every time I play with someone new, they sit there astonished. They ask me,( Where ya gettin all that sound from? Is that just the amp? How'd ya make them sounds with no effects pedals?) Of course I say well you just have to practice, and you too someday in the distant future can sound like that. But all they really need is the DX-212.
