Frankly it's always wrong to spend so much money in a piece of foam. One has the impression that the same foam that you put in charge of the boxes you different is sold at exorbitant prices just because of "noise" which glue.
Here, it is no exception to the rule. When you open the box, you end up with two foam panels and a few pieces of white PVC a little cheap, which, once assembled, will form the base. Behind the foam board, a simple sheet of polyethylene honeycomb which supports. While rigid and good durability, it's still very cheap too. For the positive side, it's still much lighter than a sheet of plywood.

All this might sound like a negative when in fact the product did not deliver. Because yes, it works, and even pretty good. Certainly there must be 4 to start playing with audio seriously, but once on foot, you can actually play with the part geometry and shape reverbs.

It can therefore be used in several ways:
- Behind in microphone to create a "dead zone" so Reflexion Filter or "Mic Thing"
- Behind a singer to absorb the indirect reflections
- Between several sound sources (gobo) to reduce acoustic interference
- Behind the studio monitors to absorb harmful reflections to the neutrality of its
- Behind your chair when the mix to artificially reduce the volume of the room.
- And so

For my part, I use it mostly behind the singer, because the microphone the famous "dead zone", although impressive, kills the natural setting. But behind with a cardioid mic position, four panels are sufficient to regulate the natural reverberation, kill too big medium high and reduce the high frequencies. This is especially useful with all those microphones that, to improve the presence of voice taken, offer a nice bump on the upper medium, which certainly plays its role, but has a serious handicap if the room is not a terrible sound terrible!
So you keep the good advantage of the bump on the direct source, but much less frank about the reverberations.

You understood, if you have a studio with beautiful materials, wood, carpeting, or various acoustic treatments, go your way.
However, if you are looking for a mobile, quick to assemble and disassemble, that improves the acoustics of your decision, then it is a good product for you.

Caution, this does not replace a full acoustic treatment and / or reviewed by a professional. But for homes studio owners like me, this seems a good compromise!
