Bought new amp for powering subwoofers in home theater installation
The comfortable power and bandwidth to low gave extraordinary results.
Since I moved and I forgot demonic Home Cinema installation.
I use the amp to amplify an electric bass.
The amp coupled to a tube preamp gives very good results (with an HP EMINENCE Delta Pro12)
The only pb encountered is the poor quality of the knob that sputters to death. I switched off.

The look of the amp is shit but the sound quality is excellent, no audible distortion, good power reserve.
I tried other bass amplification (AMPEG, HARTKE) installation and I think my setup is more dynamic.

For installation sound, there is no light in security and I'm not sure there was a clip function, in any case, I never got to this stage.
The knob is very cheap and will not give satisfaction for specific settings.

If I had to buy a 800W mono amp I would make the same choice by changing the knob

- I use two "Dagon 800" for four and a half to one and four years for the other.
- The special comes down to "simple and effective," and I rather like that.

- Too bad there have not Dagon 1200 or 1300 for my big sub 4 X 46 EV

It is true that one is easily seduced by the "pretty face" of an amp like the Inter M L2400 that I sold recently, Yamaha & Co. that are manufactured at the other end of the world. So we miss many great products from our range as Elyon / Audio BCorde of Dagon. Certainly they do not have a full page in a particular magazine, the look and housing (solid) of 800 Dagon are basic but very elaborate hidden electronics to render the best music. The housing has a bad transformer 500VA, a map of power transistors 12 Toshiba not plastic found on all current amp, but the TO3 metal housing to high-speed switching.
In this price range for them in the hands (in the table mix) various amplifiers well known, a comparison will be so much indecent Dagon surpasses 800.
From the first listen felt the power reserve, the sounds are structured, the precise contours, configuration mono immediately shows its superiority over conventional electronic stereo listening says "professional" quality, except for entries that are only asymmetric, disability over long cable lengths in concert.
Once connected my speakers equipped with B & C have been transfigured, compression DE16 is lighter and rises above the snare taps dry, the attacks have become free, while I thought their lack of momentum was due to amortization of boxes too heavy.
Cons:
For use on stage I loved it has balanced inputs, but if the source is close to no risk of hum.
To use an audiophile / studio I liked a thermal switch for triggering the fan.
Mobile disco for no less, this amp is a luxury!

Whether an audiophile or professional use (musician) this amp provides a dynamic bandwidth outstanding, simply outstanding.
Protection fuses on the front quickly to change, sometimes the little care given to our cable does not put us away from a short circuit (to 5 hours in the morning have a tendency to pull to get them in the fly ... .)
A simple and efficient mail to facilitate the work of any service workshop.
Certainly one of the best amplifiers reserved to the professional market, not to be missed!
Next to the price I should put 10/10, strictly Audiophile Pro or 8 / 10 for qq less.
One regret not having made that choice earlier.
