when it comes to a multi-effect with a bitcrusher a 12db filter (hpf, bpf, lpf), a section of changing bit (for me the main effect of biscuit), a delay, wave , pitch and filter step. all in stereo or mono depending on the need. taking midi in will give you access to all control function via the control changes.

ps: an update of the pairs can now turn it into synth digital grain but very very interested ....

UTILIZATION

use is going pretty well a requirement to invest a minimum because the cookie and uses many other shortcut key combination to access a certain mode.

SOUND QUALITY

conclusion I would say that the 500 euro are justified asked the pairs is robust, made in France with high quality components, for my part it is irreplaceable, I tried to sell it there for 2 weeks and after 4 days I realized that I could never do without and have bought nine in stride.
with time can be I assagirais musically (more distortion and then délivreras all these other more subtle skills. Finally I would say that the machines I've had, I have and I still have other but the biscuit part of which will remain at the studio until death.

UTILIZATION

yes it is quite simple although you still have to make a clean machine ergonomics.
not easy either to recall key functions when in "BRAIN" mode to adjust the effect type. I've ended up sticking papers over to remind me of the effects I use most notably the step filter and delay. I know now easily as the second key <=> to "division" for the delay and "write" to the step filter etc ...

MIDI control by an external machine is perfectly fine.

SOUND QUALITY

sounds not realistic at all, it is not the purpose here.
we want the dégeu of sound puke, who is bleeding or crunch .. because that's where it's huge, so I understood after having well tamed several months why it was called COOKIE: this saturation is pure bit crushing; we really felt something crunch and cracking in the sound.
If you want saturations very cold and ultra violent, it is the ideal machine even if it can be used with parsimony in sound with the high-pass filter, for example, the effect remains nevertheless very present.

I use this effect with electronic machinery hardware: drum machines, samplers sequencers, synthesizers digital or analog ... Paste him behind a good delay or reverb, it's just awesome.

Being a big fan of effects and other Bit Crusher Distortion Lo-Fi, I jumped on without thinking Biscuit (analog filter and multi-effects 8 bits, yum ...).

UTILIZATION

Yes, for basic use, necessarily ... it is very simple.
Filter and filter properties very easy to access.
Sample reducer on hand, etc ...

Then it is true that other operations (use of effects) require some additional manipulations, which require time to adapt.
Now it runs, I can put a period in two seconds, but in the beginning, what knob does what, I forgot, arg!

And the icing on the cake, an update that turns the Cookie Der Oto, a monophonic synth! Simply enormous, but it is left for a big learning phase functions (especially when you do not like me ... New Skin). But hey, it's so class as SHIFT I really can not grumble!

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are great yes. Digital destructive, all coupled with a beautiful analog filter is really perfect.
In the studio, it works on everything (well, it depends on the aesthetics of course ...).
Live at the output of my MPC on beats and samples.
I also tested on my electric guitar as an effects pedal is nice, pretty violent too, but this time it digitizes the signal is too too "cold". In any case, this is one of the uses that I was less convinced (but also being a guitarist, I did not want to lose all my grain loop a jungle maybe ...).

OVERALL OPINION

I for 6 months and I do not regret my purchase. After I find it very expensive for what it is. This is an unreasonable purchase as much music, but when you love it does not matter. For me the best filter on the market.

UTILIZATION

The manual is clear, but it is in English (French Oto is a box). It does not bother me but maybe some will be blocked by the language of Shakespeare.
The use of cookies is fairly simple and intuitive Except with the effects "brain"
When using the effect in "brain" can no longer vary the frequency of the sample reducer because this button is used to edit the selected effect in "brain" even when you're out of the menu "brain". I find it disturbing is the major drawback for the use of cookies.
With a little practice you navigate quickly in effect parameters "brain", it takes just memorize what parameters are changed by what knobs or buttons. Provided for that purpose, there is a scorecard provided very practical at first, after a week I've row.

SOUND QUALITY

This effect is expected to dirty sounds.
8 bit + mute or reverse each bit reducer + sample + distortion + Waveshaping ... , We get something dirty fast!

There are many many possibilities.
I love this effect.
Depending on the type of sound that enters the cookie it gets very very different things especially with the inversion / mute bit.
On the inversion / mute bit, I feel it really takes to mutate, or change only 1 or 2 bits, more does not serve a great thing.
I tested one by one each bit, there's always 1 or 2 that alters the sound interesting.
I use it for lines of synth / synth bass / drum.
be aware that filter has no resonance and self oscillation very soft, I who love the sound of screaming filter korg mono / poly, at first I was a little disappointed. But with biscuit there way around it sounds loud

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 10 days and I will ever be the choice.
Biscuit is really good, but the price is therefore (I got my Mono / Poly for 70 euros more than the biscuit)
My music is very much based on what type of sound. The purchase allows me to spend vst sample reducer and bitcrushig.
Last point, the effect is aesthetically very successful, with pretty flashing lights all around.

UTILIZATION

I am obliged to put enough for now because I think a lot of problems and bugs. overall it's pretty well tuned for this interfaceréduite and storing "fast" is essential. although we must always keep the memo box not far to find something. but more annoying is currently OPUR bugs. GOOD I said it can obviously be my machine! but this I know for now I just found lots of small issues on the bone. I tried the reset procedure .. same.
