Teenage Engineering is now accepting pre-orders for its new OD-11 speaker system and posted a picture of the prototype of a new instrument.

The OD-11 (for Ortho Directional 1+1) is a new two-way sound diffusion system that works wirelessly via WiFi and the Cloud with the Apple devices. The 7.5kg and 10 liter cube (262 × 272 × 262mm) hosts a computer, a woofer, a tweeter and a 100W Class D analog amplifier. 1/8” stereo and optical inputs are also available on the box.

You can connect to the OD-11 any device equipped with a WiFi connection, your computer, tablet or smartphone can stream music to the unit wirelessly or use them to remotely control the music stream based on the Cloud. The OD-11 featuring its own computer with a history of the music played, you can play music even though your computer/tablet/smartphone is out of reach.

Teenage Engineering is even working on the integration of a vocal synth so that you can read your messages, twits…

The OD-11 is completed with the Orthoplay control app for iOS and if you use the system with your Apple computer, you can setup Orthoplay as an output in the control panel.

The OD-11 is currently available for pre-order for 849€, or 1599€ for a pair of units. An Ortho Remote control is also available separately for 99€. Visit www.teenageengineering.com/od-11 for further details.

Also, Teenage Engineering posted a picture of the parts of its next instrument, which probably be a new keyboard controller:
