Teenage Engineering OD-11 and a prototype

Teenage Engineering is now accepting pre-orders for its new OD-11 speaker system and posted a picture of the prototype of a new instrument.

The OD-11 (for Ortho Directional 1+1) is a new two-way sound diffusion system that works wirelessly via WiFi and the Cloud with the Apple devices. The 7.5kg and 10 liter cube (262 × 272 × 262mm) hosts a computer, a woofer, a tweeter and a 100W Class D analog amplifier. 1/8” stereo and optical inputs are also available on the box.

You can connect to the OD-11 any device equipped with a WiFi connection, your computer, tablet or smartphone can stream music to the unit wirelessly or use them to remotely control the music stream based on the Cloud. The OD-11 featuring its own computer with a history of the music played, you can play music even though your computer/tablet/smartphone is out of reach.

Teenage Engineering is even working on the integration of a vocal synth so that you can read your messages, twits…

The OD-11 is completed with the Orthoplay control app for iOS and if you use the system with your Apple computer, you can setup Orthoplay as an output in the control panel.
