On April 16th, record stores across many countries will take part in the ninth annual party known as Record Store Day. Created to celebrate the culture of the independent record store, the event includes exclusive releases and in-store appearances by some artists.
Participating stores are located in many countries across the world, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Sweden, the United Kingdom and of course the United States of America where the idea was born in 2007 (with the first edition taking place on April 19th, 2008).
More details here if you live in the US, or there for details of participating shops in other countries (many countries also have their own national dedicated websites for the even).
