This is not a wah pedal but a double function: the pedal works as a lever for vibrato guitar and switches on the sides allow you to adjust an effect of echo / reverb that sounds very 50's / 60's .
So, a priori, a typical pedal rockabillly, surfmusic ... But it is ultimately much more versatile than that.
It is a heavy pedal, sturdy and ultimately rather well designed ergonomically.

It's an analog pedal with one input, one output, a pedal, switches 10, a hatch for battery 9v power supply and socket for standard ext.

UTILIZATION

The coolest thing about this pedal is small switches that are on the sides: the right choice of 4 posts slapback ranging from very short to a sort of infernal reverberation, left four settings ranging mix of "discreet" to "effect only". The thing a little weird at first, is the pedal that does not react completely as a vibrato lever: you can not hold the detuning: it can only boost (more or less strong) that will effect . SOUND QUALITY

The pedal does not have his food: it has to do with the stuff of good quality.
Like all Danelectro pedals I know, daddy's shift offers a warm palette of sounds good. The effects of Echo-reverberation are really beautiful: there would be elsewhere in the ShiftDaddy components 2 mini-pedals: the BLT-Slapecho people and those of Corned Beef Reverb.
One thing is certain: there are two simultaneous effects: Can not reproduce these effects with a single pedal Danecho, for example.

OVERALL OPINION

I use you for 6 months and I can not get enough. I admit it took me a little time to take stock of the capabilities of this machine. On the other hand, we will immediately find all the "moods" of Hypertypical surfmusic or rockbilly: playing vibrato, pushing the echo, we enter into sounds that certainly resembles the soundtrack of the films of Tarantino.
So long as we do not look enough is enough effect type 50's, and when we look a little more, there are more sounds and 70's and 60s and finally very current (including Radiohead)

A type of adjustable delay on foot, the pedal is used to modulate the pitch of the delay, supposed to give the impression that we have added a tremolo guitar. There's a delay and more, I just said, which is supposed to be "interstellar" according to the instructions ....

Well that, that looks attractive that's why I bought it.

Ben I never got to use it. The delay is flat and short, think about a slapback or a very short echo, pitch shift effect is difficult to master and sounds very artificial non-musical sense of the word.

The design of the pedal is very original. The build quality is poor: I bought this pedal new. Upon opening the box, I noticed that the rack was broken. Now I bought a Danelectro Dano Wah previously used and that the rack was also broken at the exact same place. I put it down to its status as second-hand pedal a little abused. But now I know he is in fact a construction defect: the stem attaching the rack to the rocker is actually too large for the opening of the rack. This weakens or even breaks the rack at the point of attachment to the rocker. This defect is easy to repair, but I still have 2 pedals Danelectro on a rack 3 having broken that I had to repair and strengthen.

For this very unpleasant and unacceptable I put a nice 5 / 10 as the pedal is very successful elsewhere. But this raises the question of its reliability and quality of construction on the remaining items!

UTILIZATION

Using this pedal is very simple, in fact the manual is printed on the underside of the pedal, and it is quite sufficient.
Here, no fine tuning and complex for the two onboard effects, only 4 possibilities, but it's good enough.
In addition, each setting is accessible by foot. The ergonomics are well thought out, the rocker is comfortable, its course is short, which is voluntary. However, we can lengthen it by simply unscrewing the 2 pads that limits the amplitude of deflection for a more dramatic effect yet.

SOUND QUALITY

Echo is just like vintage and be short and unique (slapback) or prolonged and "space" for a record or psychedelic rockabilly.
The vibrato is quite special: By pressing the lever is triggered vibrato, but once you stop the rocking, it immediately returns to the original note, you can not "hold the bend." This pedal thus requires learning time, but then it is easy to achieve vibrato at the foot bends or transient.
The effect can sound vintage, years 50-60 typed, but also very modern as it is original. To you to do what you want, after all it is a fact exceptionally heard.
