Analog technology, and it feels good!
I have the version with the switch that selects the frequency of the effect.

UTILIZATION

Simpler and stuff would fly.
Very heavy pedal in sturdy metal.

SOUND QUALITY

Very good sound, comfort nickel game. Obviously, this is more interesting with the sound down, comfort nickel game but it also works well up.
It is quite tempted to play with the background effect, I gather that this is a good effect!
With low: nothing to say, it's all good.
With a guitar: the effect dice landed the top rope. The pedal is really made to be stimulated by low strings.

OVERALL OPINION

His more: robustness of the pedal, and sound quality.
Least: storage battery completely rotten: 4 long screws to remove with a Phillips, storage battery too small with a piece of rubber that systematically off the passage obliged to force to close.
If it is used with 9V transformer, no worries.

It is an octave bass pedal to non rackable format. No editing is possible as analog.
Conventional connectors, input and output jack size and the power supply by 9V.
I have the second version of this model, with the central cursor 3 positions but without the True Bypass.

UTILIZATION

For configuration, two knobs. The first "Normal" that manages the volume of the mixture its natural / octave, and the second "Octave" which adjusts the dosage effect.
In the center a cursor positions 3, "High", "Mid" and "Low" that manages fréquances the octave generated.
Everyone will pay for his taste.
What the manual in English, is brief but provided essentially some basic settings and the specificity of each knob.

SOUND QUALITY

The desired effect is there, still a few stalls are present if left too last note.
This small issue aside, the sound gains in size. We win hugely depth while keeping audible and defined notes.
But be careful, I think good cabs are required to have a good record, if you type in the sub, HP 12 seem to be the bare minimum.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 weeks now and I'm not ready to part with. I ssay the same type of effect via a zoom all-in-one, but much less good quality.
These strengths are undoubtedly robustness (Metal housing made in Sweden by EBS), the multiplicity of settings depending on the instrument played, rendering that adds a new dimension to your sound.
Weaknesses, certainly the lack of access to the battery, as unscrewing the base is necessary for accession. The few stalls on notes too long.
The price / quality ratio is still very good for such a product. Manufacturing quality and sound reproduction makes a great product.

SOUND QUALITY

This is a well octaver propore! Although sr do play a note both because the effect does not gre polyphony agreements (like all Octavers my knowledge), but he forgives gladly small burrs which keeps a certain richness of play and does not stay rivs eyes on the stick to avoid the hubbub CHARACTERISTICS of this kind of effect.

The deep bass is important to drool without the amp, although it is royal ream!

OVERALL OPINION

The product is simple, robust and effective!

I do not use it on my bass, I also used to inflate cetain directory two pieces of my acoustic electric guitar and your exact is striking!

Mine is a Black Label, so always with two second gnration potentiomtres and a selector swith lo / mid / high.

It is powered by either 9V battery (remove 4 screws to put it), but it can also be powered externally, I had a bit of snoring by trying a transformer with two bullets, but with a power supply dcoupage it sounds perfectly clean

UTILIZATION

Unlike other AviX, I find my sound fast enough, it is only shuffled the natural sound of bass with an octave, so it's pretty simple.

SOUND QUALITY

It's a good Octaver, and if we do not seek the sound of a Octaver, we're obviously not happy with his purchase. In addition it is an effect that is that difficult to place in music today ...

For my part, I like his sound less technical than the Boss, for example.

The particularity of OctaBass is that its tracking is exceptional for this type of format pedals, go to the hill POG Electro Harmonix HOG or for better, but this is no longer the m me money. It outperforms most other kinds Octaver Boss / MXR etc.. eyes closed.

And it's true bypass! It does not affect the sound of the bass when not engaged

OVERALL OPINION

I shall have made 8 / 10 gnrale medium, but as the notes here are low and extrment mlangent the old and the new MODEL, I just to boost up the whole.

I had the opportunity to try a lot and frankly, it is the little OctaBass. When I think of the ridicule of my old ocatve GT6B the OctaBass gnial really is!

Now if you do not need a Octaver, do not buy it and that's it!

Stall a little low. The three modes are interesting but the "medium" is probably the most exploitable.

OVERALL OPINION

I have been a little over a year. I do not use more because of questionable reliability. The switch works once in four (I have exactly the same problem with the low IQ, also in EBS). Foam anti-slip beneath the delaminated case after a week. Paint, poor quality, does not support any stripe. Quality / price ratio disastrous. Amazing when you know the excellent reputation of the brand.

Beautiful analog sound. With three modes, it adapts easily to the grain of any instrument (bass or low for me).

OVERALL OPINION

So the feared o really is the reliability. Considering the price ...! Mine has begun to wane after two months (one hole on a frquence prcise whatever the instrument, and the foam that antidrapante bar, LED tmoin walking more). Today it does not at all. I will have gard a year and a half, paid 130. Quality price ratio ... dsastreux

Octaver only for the lower octave.
Case usual EBS: Strong, with stack location incredibly poorly designed.
Mine is true bypass, apparently it is a relatively new option.

SOUND QUALITY

So my big concern is to render an opinion that this is the only Octaver I ever had in his hands. So I find it hard to judge.
I am however quite disappointed by two things:
- Below the LA, it picks up sometimes (not always ...)
- I have a big POP irregularly at first onset of effect after powering on. Then it gets better, but there are still unwanted noise to each engagement.

I needed it for occasional RE gravec on a 4 string, then that's fine. But given the reputation of the thing, I am unpleasantly surprised.

OVERALL OPINION

I like the possibility dde mix the direct sound and the processed sound. Ultimately, it can be used to boost.
With experience, I would try others before buying. But many will find in stores ...

The EBS Octabass is a bass guitar effects pedal that adds an octave below to the note played. It's an analog octave pedal and while it would maybe work on guitar, it's designed for bass and this is really the only situation I'd recommend using it in. It's got great tracking on bass, so I don't know how well that would translate since it's not designed for guitar. The pedal has a 1/4" input and output and required power from a nine volt power supply. It isn't rack mountable as it's a stomp box.

UTILIZATION

There isn't much at all to using the EBS Octabass. Even if you don't have much experience with octave pedals, you should be able to figure out everything without any help from a manual. The parameters that the Octabass has to work with include knobs for normal level, which is for the original note played, and for octave, which sets the level for the octave above. It also has a switch for setting the range, which gives you low, mid, or high settings to choose from. I haven't seen the manual for the EBS Octabass.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound of the EBS Octabass is one of the best I've heard from an octave pedal in general, let alone one for bass guitar. It's got some of the most realistic tracking for an octave pedal out there, as it feels very real and can even handle chords, which is definitely pretty rare for an octave pedal. I've used the Octabass pedal with a Fender Jazz Bass in the studio. A client brought in this pedal, so I don't own it and the studio I work at doesn't either. It's not the type of effect that we used very often, but when we did it really sounded great...

OVERALL OPINION

If you are looking for an octave pedal for your bass guitar, look no further than the EBS Octabass. It's great for bass players who like to play up on the top notes, as to me this is where it sounds best. It's very easy to use, but at the same time offers up a good amount of control. I'd recommend checking out the Boss OC-3 octave pedal as well, but to me the Octabass is the best out there I've used...
