The Korg Wavedrum Global features a drum pad equipped with a pressure sensor and multiple pickups that capture the nuances of the strikes on the head and rim. With this model, it’s possible to play different sounds from the head and rim, or apply pressure effects on the head.
A sound engine that combines DSP-powered algorithms with PCM sounds offers 200 preset programs covering a vast range of sounds, 200 user programs for storing customized sounds and settings, a Live Mode with up to 12 settings (4 favorite programs x 3 banks) and 140 loop phrases.
A sensitivity parameter has been added and the Wavedrum Global includes an auxiliary input for monitoring or mixing any audio source or adding a second Wavedrum.
The Korg Wavedrum Global will be available in March for a US street price of $599. More information at www.korg.com/WavedrumGlobal.
