«  Floyd Rose, MIDI ... elbow grease! »

Published on 09/21/11 at 00:38
installed a few weeks instead of one of my bridges Original Floyd Rose.Je wanted to use the MIDI on my guitar with an OFR, it's done. Please note I am speaking only of the bridges, which must be added the hexpander MIDI and / or acoustic part as needed.
I have not tried other models for the simple reason that, apart from Graph Tech's solutions are not very many.
The downside: the installation! I expected the job, but if I knew the drill plate OFR would be so complicated, I would have bought without hesitation LB63 New Graph Tech. I do not know the build quality and durability, certainly worse than the original Floyd, but what a pain (even stainless steel drills did nothing or little). It's finally strawberry several hours with Dremel who were right in the plate, like what!) 6 holes are necessary to get the son of each of the bridges - sensors under the floyd, and then plug into the MIDI hexpander (purchased separately), so patience and a real will to do it yourself will be required ...
After this, the result is excellent, really good tracking, and opportunities with the Floyd are nice. Note that I have not installed the "piezo."
Further details, I have no difference in the sound of my guitar intrinsic.
With experience, therefore, I chose the LB63 for em ... less;) I also think that the appearance of LB63 is not foreign. The simplest well find its hole locations related to setting the intonation of the bridges, and to do that to a pro, like your favorite locksmith who has the right stuff and habit.
