«  SUPER REALISTIC and »

I will not go over the details and be brief. overdrive / distortion lamp (12 AX7) equalize with 3-band gain volume.

UTILIZATION

the general configuration is simple enough, the sound is always good, never read the manual. the knobs are really very effective and correct sound.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound is really good. I play Gibson Les paul standard and the pedal is plugged into a marshall 2466 on how low setting with retail 15-16 H 12 H body and therefore a sound that comes already in the crunch, it is the sound a plexi already pushed (master 12 H) to summarize. This is the base that I use, and I add different overdrive pedals (one at a time!) According to the desired grain ... (Xotic AC Booster, wampler plexdrive and dual Ht). Regarding the HT Dual I use to get the "big" sound, because the grain is thick enough. Channel 1 I use in "crunch" with the gain to 13 H. It really is THE sound of guns n'roses, gary moore et cie, the rhythms are splendid with its very hot and gorgeous lead, you really feel like a tube amp overdrive and despite what some may say, the light plays its part! I also changed the original, a Sovtek if I remember correctly, and I put one groovetube Chinese, on the advice of VHM, the sound is truly transformed at this time, it is become much more warm and organic with very dense harmonics ... this is the second channel, I can not really speak because I do not use it ... It's just a tone at the top in terms of saturation and there or we have an overdrive on channel 1, we go into the real Disto ... why I do not use it???? well simply because I plug the pedal into an amp with its already at the limit of good crunch (Plexi sound) ... and the big devastating distortion channel 2, a volume pushed to follow a drummer "tape" I go very quickly in feedback .... and then the sound is too compressed for my taste on channel 2. This is in my opinion the difference between overdrive (its little or no distortion and compressed (compressed sound and therefore more modern.)

OVERALL OPINION

I play on the pedal for a year .. I love the sound it produces including n'roses play guns and all the rock 80's 90's for vintage sounds I use pedals with a gain level and especially a smaller thinner grain. I tried another pedal in the same vein, none gave me the impression of having much more real channel on my amp (monocanal. .. which is good!) I really like this thickness in the sound and the heat generated by the lamp (especially groovetube) ... the only downside is its specific power, but it is also because of this that the lamp receives enough energy to be heated. With the experience I remake this choice ... although last pedals output Bogner esctasy blue and red, tempting me ... well they need to be tested .... but from what I saw on youtube the grain seems more exclusive than the HT Dual, which ultimately sounds like a good old Marshall stack.
