Published on 11/20/12 at 15:59- Dual Channel Distortion Pedal lamp (Sovtek 12AX7 WA Basic) to two channels: first "clean / od" internally switchable by small additional switch (which acts as a gain boost, in fact), a second dedicated high gain
- Three band EQ common to both channels with additional semi-parametric filter (ISF choice of the center frequency of the band medium) for voicing from good to downright british U.S.
- Additional output jack emulation hp (potentially useful for recording live in silence, plugged into a console / sound card for example ...)
- Gain knobs per channel concentric, same for the two corresponding volumes. graduations summary hardly visible from afar against: perhaps one of the only few spots of this little gem that was big!
- Owner provided food (yes, because the lamp is supplied with 300V ... it Is not it beautiful, a pedal with a light that is not just for decoration? ^ ^). Râlez step: at least you do not have to buy
- Metal frame (rigid plastic base) dimensions (mm) 160 x 119 x 80, weight: 1.3 kg (yes, it's heavy on all fronts ...)
- Not true bypass, but very suitable buffer. Electronic switching (ie silent) switches. Forget plocs in Mechanical & amp: there is more that is all

In short, little stress at the beginning but eventually no problems and very satisfied with my replacement by Mullard (new prod, yes I know, sorry ...) ECC83, and you should know that this family has already received pedals tutorials (videos or not) to perform this little DIY not so complex that you think if you are careful and that takes time.
Hence my 8 the creature does not have to be ashamed because of the excellence of the rest of the bill. I have a weakness for the U.S. register with the unit (refer also to the rest of the gear component audio see my profile), I prefer the low end tighter and more natural, as there is a bump in the low- mid and a kind of roundness that develops towards the British. Not uninteresting at all, bodily pain, all of it all ... Personality, she has made several facets, everyone should find something!
Bonus: the emulated output defends altogether, I tried quickly in direct, not bad, treating everything, there is a way to make good, although obviously, I prefer a true plug in a real cab. HOWEVER, this output plugged into a moo box set "line" that can be a VOX miniThree (it is at this point that you have the right to despise me), well, she can even warm up all that and to pierce the grain, just adjust the balance between the two gears!

It has its own character, admittedly, so have fun in different registers, but it still paste an amp any less consistent (between my laney lionheart and my Egnater Tweaker, there is no photo, she prefers the company second, class AB and especially less typical basic than the first). Finally, it is just a hint ...
I also had to try several times on a Hot Rod (if I'm not mistaken, the amp models and Fender guitars, it's like different flavors / versions of Apple products in my eyes .. . they get lost in it has not). The big hearts, nothing more ...
I do not have to redo this choice for the simple reason that now is a gem for me and my ears (I think it is clear ^ ^)!
The investment is worth it in my opinion. However, if you think too nasty oriented basis, consider other models of the HT series is really something other than standard Boss ... (Sorry for the fans! ^ _ ^)
