Pedal-selling 1987 1992 up, rather rare nowadays. APRS via the manufacturer, the distortion is cre from an analog circuit, while the delay and chorus with a digital chip. See here ( http://www.bossarea.com/loadpage.asp?file=boxes/mz2.xml ) for more dtails.
UTILIZATION
Extremely simple, like the vast majority of Boss pedals. The manual is completely useless my eyes. The rglages are very intuitive, no problem at this level.
SOUND QUALITY
I play on a Japanese reissue Stratocaster, a Fender amp (a transistor), and I confess that I am really bluff by the potential of this pedal. The distortion is rather basic, but very effective. Perfect for playing rock exprimental, rock "basic" or the blues. David Gilmour of Pink Floyd has used on "Sorrow", I expected to have only the sound and I was wrong. This pedal is very versatile. According rglages, one can easily get a good warm overdrive, a clear and specific on disto ... on the other hand, unlike what one might think, I do not think she's been planned to the metal and other nag. It is far from being a metal or a Fuzz-Zone!
I have not found any useful ral delay and chorus. I use a Boss RV-3 at the same time for a Lger delay and I do not need choruses. These two effects reprsentent Plutt gadget in my opinion but we must be able to take something very correct though.
OVERALL OPINION
I test several Fuzz, a Little Big Muff, a Dynadrive before buying it, I think it suits my style of play better I like the possibility to obtain an overdrive and a quality without any distortion problem. This pedal has great potential and can fit any style of play relatively calm. You just have to find its own rglages.
Buy 80 (including postage) on the internet, I do it again this choice without a doubt. In addition, I love her look red and black, very class!
