The version of the famous overdrive pedal tube (1 x 12AX7) used by David Gilmour and Eric Johnson and Satriani (among others), in rack, made during the 80's.

On the front:

7 knobs:

-Drive
-Contour
-Bias (optional pedal acts on the physical characteristics of the lamp)
-Master
Hi-Eq
Mid-Eq
Low-Eq

3 switch: On / off, and boost bypass
2 LEDs (on / off and Bypass)

At the back, 2 inputs (Instrument / Line), 2 Outputs (Instrument / Line
), 2 inputs for switch pedals (Boost / Bypass)
All with power supply 'board ...

Super tough metal chassis, such indestructible ... and made in USA, which makes it even better ...

UTILIZATION

Very simple and intuitive, turn the knobs, one finds his youth and roll!
I use it directly into my sound card (Presonus Firebox), with a small DI / amp simulation Palmer between the two ...

SOUND QUALITY

Super creamy sound that goes from crunch to overdrive a typical sound of solo Eric Johnson (on a Start is a real treat) or Satriani period eponymous album (95')... Try it on voices also, I think
Wonderful overdrive on a low also ...

I changed the original lamp Chandler, a little tired and I replaced with a 12AX7 EH Goldpin ... the sound is huge, while remaining classy ...

For the record, the original versions of the Tube Driver BK Butler are signed in facade (the original designer of the pedal, Chandler is the manufacturer / distributor), while editions (pictured above) that will follow will bear the name Chandler (they transferred to a dark story Butler patent, which he later recovered to resume his hits drivers under the current brand BK Butler).
Third life of this product, Chandler gives license to TubeWorks, who manufacture a few more years ...
