Value For Money :
Excellent
Voil a distortion pedal that will make noise! Electro-Harmonix is strong (like their usual) with this Metal Muff.
So this is an analog distortion pedal very complte transistors possdent knobs (very sensitive) issue, Boost, Aquamarine, Medium, Low and Gain. It is equipped with a between guitar and an output (obviously) and possde two switch: one to engage or bypass the pedal, and a second to enable or disable the boost.
It feeds with a power supply, standard so no problem to the ct.
It comes with a very simple and clear manual. No need to procrastinate, it's srieux!
USE
Level use, it is very simple to use. Simply snap the pedal for it sounds. You can really change the sound as easily given that the knobs are trsractifs.
No need to hold forth for hours, it's very easy to use.
SOUND QUALITY
Then we arrive at the important point, namely the SON!
This is a distortion pedal before Mtal destiny. And this style, it does very well. The gain only feature is impressive and progressive and I think it is not necessary to fit either a gain for very big sound.
Important to emphasize the pedal breath very very little, and is an excellent point!
First, the pedal without the boost:
-It Sounds very in Metallica And Justice For All. It is a little spirit of the Mesa Boogie Rectifier (not mind the sound). This is - ie a trspchu prcis and sound with a grain trs typ.
-The Middle and Bass knobs Trebble really work so well that it suffices to move up a notch to hear a difference.
With little gain and climbing the medium, one starts in a fairly trashy metal sound 80 (even if for this style, the Boss HM-2 better fulfill its role my taste).
-In The medium amount background, it gives one of his radio grandmother.
In short you'll understand that this knob is the magic button on the pedal that lets you change the sound texture very effectively. Below one quarter of the race of the knob (of medium always), the sound is very dull, just mount it to restore spaciousness to the sound.
Acute and Lower are used to boost the sound a bit.
-Personnellement, I always use it with the following rglages: Volume 5, Trebble 5 Medium 5 Low 5 Gain 5-7.
By activating the boost:
-The Boost is the small spot of the pedal. The knob is interesting that in the first quarter of ca race after deviant sound too loud.
-When The knob is little prs quarter, the sound of the distortion is not without recalling the sound of Seek And Destroy or the old sound of Metallica.
For rsumer This gives a distortion pedal Mtal very versatile which can range from modern metal sound of the early Metallica or Slayer (in mind this is not the exact same sound) .dropoff window
To me, this distortion be more rhythmic than solo. It does not sound quite dry and smooth solo.
This pedal also makes good in a transistor amp in a tube amp. But little more is if the branch on a bit of a crunch channel tube amp, it gives her a very very big. It is not at all the kind of sound I love, but it sure will please.
I also do my Zorro against those prtendent that this distortion is that for home under the pretext that it does not include group ... This is wrong, I use this pedal in to live covers of Metal when I envi not to burden me an amp. It pierces the mix very well provided you do not put extreme rglages. It does not lack dynamics.
Nevertheless we must recognize it a default. Released Metal styles or blues, this Mtal muff is not really made (IMHO) for rock and other styles.
For Metal, it deserves much new, but the level versatility, it deserves 6. So I would put 8 because we know what to expect when buying a pedal called METAL MUFF.
NOTICE GLOBAL
In conclusion, the Electro-Harmonix Metal Muff sign is a very good pedal that will satisfy most metalheads seeking its typ.
For my part, I use this pedal for 2 years as both live at home.
-What I prefer this pedal is its simplicity and the warm sound organic, and very attractive price.
-The Default that can repprocher him is his lack of versatility in music styles and the boost that is effective in the first quarter.
I tried many before distortion offer me, I heard the famous Boss Metal Zone I found Synthetic and too modern although she rglages EQ is very intressants. I also test a Boss Metal Core who can compete in this style and then the Line 6 Uber Metal.
The qualitprix is excellent because this pedal turns around 89, which is given for the quality of this pedal.
With the experience I would do this choice without a doubt because I love this pedal.
