Published on 06/02/13 at 04:45a collaboration of experience and judge jmb fredd custom shop, the riff shooter is an overdrive / boost high quality smelling crafts in French.
-3 Usual settings: volume, tone and drive. the tone by acting as a low-pass filter (it passes low frequencies and cut high frequencies)
A voice-control: range (100hz to 1000hz) on which the center frequency of the saturation will wear.
-Selector 3 positions, with an almost sweet overdrive to overdrive "super Burne"
-Booster: placed after the overdrive it sends the shooter riff on territories stoner rock without any problems! it can be used independently (riff shooter off) to boost a clear or saturated sound.
A hyper-neat finish and great design.
True-bypass, completely analog.
-Silent, no buzz.
hint: I calmed down quite a buzz or hum on the pedals "boouuutique lousy" with a palmer crease fold insulation 01. Here of course, not necessary.
I am not 10 out of 10 only because the power supply next to the jack plug in can annoy some. (I do not care, the riff shooter is pluggué nitrogen to my 21 with a double jack without cable ...)
UTILIZATION
I mainly use this marvel of a amt ss11 preamp tube constantly on the clean channel in the power amp transo electro harmonix 44 magnum, 22 caliber or marshall 9100/el34 with two 1x12 cabinets in eminence cannabis rex (with very serious the smooth treble) on one side and eminence gb 128 (a greenback with more sins) of another.
my guitar of choice is a deluxe Viking hagstrom Tremar on which I installed a Gibson 57 + and p94 (p90 in a humbucker format) but I also have two Gibson Les Paul in 57 classic and seymour duncan sh2/sh4. (I have not tried the RS with simple by my p94 pickups)
I usually place all my pedals od / distortion / fuzz between two equalizers (a chart before the first pedal and a parametric right after the last one) for obvious reasons of lack of something or a small space in the shitty mix group ...
no need here! (I will return)
I said that the manual pedal is downloadable on the new site jmb but those propertied the sublime nitrogen 21 will in no case disoriented, the knobs all interacting with each other.
but do not worry for those who were a little put off by the complexity (relative) of nitogen 21, the riff shooter is plug and play (it sounds now!)
SOUND QUALITY
good so far, so laugh more!
all those who are broken head for how to approach the sound of billy gibbons zztop (without having to buy a new pair of pognes) may consider that their quest is over! here we are right now in "Mescalero"!
I sound "MAMMOTH" with my viking! A huge "resonance" in the midrange, a very large dynamic range (the game volume knob is very responsive!), High accuracy even in the super serious (like it very low tunings).
the sound is very fat but do not have porridge (but if it became the huge adjustment brings the tone / voice combination is!)
the versatility of this overdrive is amazing! with 3 position selector "lazy", "juicy" or "horny" you can easily go from a clean / crunch / blues overdrive to heavy / super heavy rock and Burne to finish on od / dist "MAMMOUTHESQUE!"
good, at home or in group I almost always fully balloons, boost almost always engaged (ahh the name "potato", j'men not always hand
) I have a kind of a "ZZTOPesque" in more violent that destroys the heat of a drummer too

I always had a problem with od / distortion / fuzz sound great at low volume at home and once arrived Repeat 'There's no one! (Hence my use of pre / post eq).
there, no need extra equalization! the tone / drive combination / boost is an absolutely huge job!
even with his super bass / thick very high volume the sound is perfectly stable in the mix of the group.
I often feel like playing with octave (my micropog therefore serves me nothing, so much the better!)
I spoke here mainly use my with my config 'favorite (pedals with a huge character in preamp / tube amp or transo no cararactère, neutral. everything with HPs with a big personality, but also a balance in their different "marriages")
but I tested the riff shooter with other amps (marshall mk2 100w head, jcm 900, Blackstar HT-40, mesa dual recto ...) and other HPs eminence wizard, governor and private jack, Celestion v30 , G12M-25 and G12T-75 ...) and even if the amp strong personality are far from my thing, the verdict is clear. the riff sounds wickedly good shooter!
I also loved as to which calmed v30 even with beam blockers continued to be well loudmouths (the tone / voice combination is fantastic)
OVERALL OPINION
jmb fredd judge and gave birth to a monster, a big chubby baby well doped hormones.
They calmed at once my bulimia pedals (the great nitrogen 21 had already started work)
if you try the site jean-michel it says "PEDAL FOR GUITAR EFFECTS (SHOP) - MADE IN FRANCE"
Here the term "boutique" take it all sounds way. just look at the work done on the pedal, high-quality, perfect!
those who have already opened a pedal death by audio (to name a few ...) know what I mean. Two bogeys, three pieces of string, 300euros and roll!
with experience I know I will not have to redo this choice, it will never leave me!
Here, I think I was as objective as possible, even if I do not hide that I'm a big fan of the work of jmb and I have the utmost respect for the choices and the chronicles of judge.
