I've got this in my home studio, and power up all of my rack gear including my audio interface. It has the ability to power up to eight units at once, and has only a single plug on its end to plug into the wall. This makes for the perfect unit to power up a good amount of your rack gear and otherwise. It also has a power outlet in the front of it, which I often find useful for quick powering of my external hard drive and other accessories. The M8X is rack mountable and will only take up a single rack space in a traditional rack space. I keep it on the bottom of all of my rack gear and it powers everything right up with simply turning on one thing. This is not only great for convenience, but it also saves power as I only turn on all of my gear with this when I'm using it, rather than having each one plugged into the wall individually. I wouldn't even have enough outlets in my wall to power everything that I've got, so something like this is really a necessity for me. This isn't the most powerful version in Furman's line of power supplies, as there are a whole slew of models to choose from from this company. I decided to go with the Furman M8X simply because it was one of the cheapest models that I could find. Having said this, pretty much everything Furman has to offer is pretty cheap unless you get up to the upper end of their power sources. However, unless you're in a larger studio the lower end options like the M8X will definitely get the job done at an extremely low rate. Highly recommended for anyone with a studio who needs a large power source...See less00
