No, they are neither aborted fetuses or accessories .., finally, brief. They are molded silicone earplugs tailored to an attenuation of 25 dB in a rather linear. they are in -9 and -15 dB, but there is no longer the same reference (I quibble).

I use them for eight months, I have tried any other model.

Value for money: huge price dispersion according to the audiologist. Starting € 170 on average lower. But it's super useful.

Qualities: We leave again (rock noisy but very good anyway) without ears whistling, fresh and (finally 'not exaggerate), hearing before the same again. Impressive. It also applies to other noisy activities.

Limitations: it is far better than all the solutions like earplugs, headphones, etc., for mitigation. But hey, it's supposed to be super-linear and in fact, it is almost, but it is not entirely neutral: the sound is slightly less warm. For it is against a little better defined: I can better analyze the sound, distinguishing intruments with than without.
Another thing: a feeling of being in an aquarium, a little disconnected from others. It's strange, it bothers a little at the beginning and then it did.

I would do this choice: Having tested anything else, I can not answer. However, -25 dB are well suited for a rock band, whatever it is, I think, from the moment he is a drummer a bit noisy (I'm not talking about extreme metal, I'm really talking to a drummer who does not know down at a jazz drummer for example). For me it was a necessary investment: the train things were going, I would sourdingue forty brushes. So voila.
