The Basslet, a bracelet to feel the music

Rescue Ideas is a young German company that has recently won the 2015 Midem Innovation Award for their Basslet connected bracelet.
The Basslet is a connected bracelet that works along with your smartphone and audio headphones. Its patented technology allows for transmitting the low frequencies of the music you listen (up to 200 Hz) to the body in order to create a full sensorial experience. You won’t feel the bass like vibrator cells that equip your smartphones, but the experience is similar to what you can feel when you are in front of a subwoofer or when holding a double bass. Daniel Büttner, one of the founder of the project (a bass and double bass player who worked at Ableton) explains that, thanks to this system, the brain interprets the bass perception like music, even though the vibration is generated on a single part of the body.
The Basslet is still a prototype, Rescue Ideas is planning on crowdfunding the project by the end of the year and launch the first models mid-2016.
You can follow the evolution of the project at www.basslet.de.
