The new processing plug-in from SonicXTC is both a compressor/expander and waveshaper for Windows.
The CompX-Wave is inspired by “boutique” compressors such as the Empirical Labs Distressor or the Elysia Mpressor. SonicXTC adds that it is not transparent at all and is designed for those who want to apply extreme processing to individual instrument tracks or full mixes.
The CompX-Wave GUI offers various controls for attack, release, threshold, ratio, cutoff, wet/dry mix and a switch allows for enabling compressor or expander modes. A Wave Shaper section is also included.
The CompX-Wave includes 64 presets and supports MIDI automation. It is available for $6.99 and you can download a trial version from www.vstplugin-sonicxtc.com. The plug-in is a VST 32-bit for Windows only.
