Okko Diablo

I got to test out the Diablo many years ago and really loved the pedal but didn't get to buy one straight away. For a couple of years, I tried and liked other pedals but there was always something that wasn't right. So then I got smart and ordered the Diablo. Delivery took a couple of weeks but the pedal has been in use since the day it arrived. It has been in a number of rigs I own(ed) and always delivered great tones.

Although based on a TS, it can do a LOT more than a TS. It has a great set of controls that allow you to dial in the pedal exactly like you want it. It works as a booster, low or hi gain pedal, it depends on your needs and what you do with the controls. Besides the standard level, gain and tone controls, the Diablo has a couple of great features:

Body: controls mids and compression going from brighter and open sounding to darker with more compression
Feed: determines the amount of low end pre-gain so it can clear up darker sounding guitars/pickups
Bass: internal control, works closely with the Feed, it sets the amount of bass post-gain
Presence: works like on an amp, add more high end sparkle or make things smoother
Headroom switch: is actually a voltage doubler so the pedal internally runs at 18v, this totally changes the output, response and feel of the pedal. I would say, it's like having 2 different pedals.

All the controls are highly interactive so it needs some time to dial in BUT you will not only find YOUR tone but also plenty of other great sounds from this pedal

It isn't a cheap pedal but it's definitely worth the price, i have considered getting a 2nd one so I can have it both on my board and in my rack and I might do just that pretty soon.

Tested in store for ten minutes, so my opinion is based only on a first impression with a Strato Deluxe on a Blues Junior.
I found it very versatile but I have not had time to exploit all the possibilities ... That said, I think his strength is that it achieves saturation hot, very "smooth" ...
We are far from the dirty side, granular medium of a TS ... or a distortion / OD Plexi supercharged way.
I preferred to play solo notes that to play rhythm.
It seems to me to approach sounds ideal for Santana or Gary Moore, and is particularly appropriate in style jazz / blues.

Try longer, pushing up the volume, with other guitars, but I liked it, that one ...

I use it recently after experimenting with various models of the market but quite expensive to me, is pierced the eardrums by their side garish and artificial, or by their level of earnings that were not so high that , yet the distortion or SansAmp Tonbone or Blackstar pleased me well .. Anyway .. is a matter of taste ..

The OKKO DIABLO is a subtle distortion rich and beautiful grain that does not confuse the notes ... the knobs actually change the sound and found a wide range of distortions, both rich and avoinent dry more acute and typed rough rock ; velvety and crunchy for the blues, it's really good stuff seen the finish on the internal circuits and components .. The metal shell is very robust.
It is made hand (painting of the hull including) in Leipzig, Germany.
OKKO boss is also a professional guitarist, and some of his videos on the net seduced me and I decided to order his little invention.

Pity she is so well known and I'm used to the distortion of my amp while rich lamps; I'm crazy, but the Okko front is not bad It's really a plus for moi.Je believe it found its place in the most beautiful Pedalboard.

Level settings: gain (the big crunch sound), tone, level, body (which gives body to the note), and feed (more aggressive or more tender) and there are 2 potentiometers inside but I don ' There have not touched ..
The model with the more button does not gain more than it actually is rather a sort of preset ...
Even by putting a 9v battery and a cross back can get it to the 18v (slap on the sound but I do not know if it eats more battery 9v ...)
No noise and is very quiet and it even switched ..

At 200 euros it's luxury, but it's very justified .. Feel free to take the same mail .. I have to say that myself and I did not even try before ordering the net, and I assure you I am more than happy ...
Its bad points ..... .. heuuuuuuu hard drive .. can be a bit hard to swicth the former. And to change the battery and 4 large screws to disassemble a large plaque.Pour hour; OKKO only produces 4 types of pedals, it's a shame.
