Published on 03/11/13 at 21:09The Peavey PV 15M is a 15 inch floor monitor that delivers a solid sound. I was using this monitor back around 2008 a lot. I feel like this monitor sounds great for the price range that it is in. I do usually prefer JBL monitors though but most of them can really start to get expensive. The PV15M has a 90 by 40 CD Horn and a 14XT compression driver.
The total weight of this monitor is not more than 40 pounds making it easy to take around and set it up. It is about 25 inches wide and only 16 inches tall. Every time I used it, it sounded great and delivered without any problems.
It is very easy to daisy chain these monitors together too if needed. There are ¼ inputs (parallel) on the monitor to daisy chain with and I have done this many times and it sounded great. This speaker is not for bigger venues though. That is something to take into consideration before purchasing because if you use it in a bigger space it may not be able to handle it. I have only used it in a space that was pretty big 1 time and it didn’t sound bad but I could tell that it just didn’t have enough power to really project the sound the way it needed to be heard to the audience. The frequency range is 68 Hz to 17 kHz.
This monitor is built very well; it has a steel handle and a metal grille to protect the face/speakers on it. It will be able to handle some drops or any of the accidental things that can happen to the gigging musician.
