I was looking for a 2-way compact speaker with HP for more than 20 cm of presence globally and can offer a low-medium bodied. I bought this house without having listened to (which I never do normally!) But the budget and helping then I was curious to hear a speaker of passive monitoring.

The pair of enclosure is connected to a NAD 320 BEE without correction with the button tone direct Inrush for more transparency (soft clipping offline), the sources are a turntable with USB output / line and a CD player.

The speakers are placed on the ground and oriented toward the sweet point "ideal" (hold down), they are clear of the walls.
Construction is serious, MDF box, the standard finish and convenient way terminal block.

SOUNDS

The merger of HP and severe acute is good, the implementation phase seems to be well done.

These speakers need to speak watt, low-volume music is the message a little confused. A mean volume they are very comfortable in electro (Tangerine Dream Ricochet), not bad on the rock (Simple Mind Memories) although a little guy with a rough lower midrange and a touch of aggressiveness in the upper midrange see limit early acute.
I tested a little classical music, the voices are hidden, the violins rather monotonous, the strong are made, the cellos, tubas and drums do not go too badly but it's not their niche: overall not enough shades narrow and musicality of this type of music.

In short everything that is modern music Ok the rest go his way. These speakers retanscrivent good dynamic variances, but they seem to need a good amp very strong in the bass and airy for the rest of the spectrum.

OVERALL OPINION

I like the ability of these speakers to reproduce the ambience of concert halls and live.

In electronic music I've really found it very comfortable with a good return and good placement of reverb and compression pitch, all with a very good read.
What I like least is the lower midrange that I find confusing but it is rather like the sound polypropylene, a material against by it does not produce artificially low. Overall they are quite neutral and restores well enough quality recordings.

Or the price they are sold, it seems to me difficult to be choosy.
