Best value:
Excellent
I was looking for a good pair of speakers with a linear response and relatively neutral.
Mixed-use monitoring and audiophile listening (to hear the mix of a song as close to what the sound engineer wanted, with minimal distortion, a good balance)
Currently used with an amp Akai AM 27 and a subwoofer Yamaha YST-SW 80.
It is 100 watt passive speakers (in my opinion because no information on the speakers and it is very difficult to access info about this product).
I called the Focal company for information and it took some time for the technician to find this reference. All he could tell me that it was a series called "proline" studio monitors had launched a focal point but stopped since.
These speakers are compatible with Bi-amplification (high / medium / low separately) and there are bridges connecting gold-plated inputs allowing use of a single amp.
SOUNDS
Excellent in all characteristics
OVERALL OPINION
It's been 12 years that I use them and they never disappointed me.
These speakers are (in my opinion) perfect for audio mixing and for listening to acoustic music (it seems that the brass, strings, percussion or other instruments to sound "hot" are in part).
I particularly appreciate their clarity and balance and overall dynamics.
They have very good quality membranes that respond quickly and efficiently and are resistant in time.
They collect also a strong amplifier (cited above to 2 / 3) without showing signs of fatigue, its still clear.
No negative point so far.
I also have Bose speakers libraries they are typed in comparison to electro music (bass more present midrange and a little more hollow with the same amp)
Excellent value for money in my case since purchased 250 € Used in a magazine sale.
The only reason I have rated 9 / 10 is that there are certainly better speakers on the market and I'm not a specialist.
.
Anyway, they respond very well to my expectations
