Excellent
Sound card 24-bit 96 kHz with 8 inputs / 8 analog + 32 MIDI channels + phantom power supply, etc ... A sound card to specific high allchantes!
I bought it in 1999, the era and was the only card less than 5000 francs 24/96 ...
There is support for the SPDIF but the AES / EBU, 2 XLR and 2 XLR Inputs pramplifies, volume 2 of the first installment, headphone volume.
Even today it is difficult to obtain such a dynamic card that price l. The inconvnient is that this card is not blind so you better have a good mix behind table: s
I use it for home recording, taken battery etc. ...
Cel works perfectly thanks to Sonar with WDM-KS (ASIO suprieur well with this card).
I have a P4 2.4 Ghz with 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB 7200 rpm disks 80.
I use both in audio (audio large projects with drums, bass, guitar, voice, etc ...) that afternoon with samplers and other external synths.
UTILIZATION
No problem for installation.
There are incompatibilities with some motherboards and especially with some VIA and SIS chipsets.
The setup is super easy with the provided utility and the manual explains the basics and configuration depending on the program used (sonar, cubase etc. ..)
GETTING STARTED
Despite mixed beginners, the last driver ESI is an incredible stability ... not a single bug or crash in a year in Sonar 4 ...
There have been many updates but I think the latest is the last to the delight of users because, I repeat, it is super stable!
In Sonar, I observe a latency of 2 ms (from 0 even in WDM-KS but may dcrochage).
I advise anyone with this card need to save up to 8 tracks and looking simultanment sound quality without breaking the bank!
I have plans with 20 audio tracks and the card does not move
OVERALL OPINION
Cel is 7 years that I use and what j'apprcie c the quality of sound!
The only default that I have found is that only the two first entries are pramplifies, the other 6 are not, so I am not 10/10
I had it before and guillemot cards on it day and night, I pass a toy really pro card (4 dB / -10 dB, AES / EBU etc ... )
The current price quality ratio is simply excellent!
If I had to buy a sound card, I would reiterate that the groin or maybe its the DSP 3000 that it contains a pramp per track.
