I wanted to use it for computer music. It records in 24 bit 96 khz, which the silent era is a must with high end converters. In addition, with its rack before everything became so much simpler (no need to go squirm Behind the PC connections).

It is used to record guitar or bass through the front line between (pre-amplified instruments via a Korg AX-1500G). She served as voice recording with a microphone (Beyer TG-X 58), but with less success via the microphone input.

UTILIZATION

The drivers are stable?

In fact, drivers taient Plutt unstable in 32 bits. When I pass in 64-bit, I did not find a 64-bit drivers on the Terratec site, and have plans to spend his little sister, USB version (all it had more connections). But hidden in the Terratec site, I finally found the 64-bit drivers. And LA is really really stable (in fact everything is stable in several 64-bit, including 32-bit apps). This so much better, because 64-bit drivers have not been updated since t years.

How many tracks you get record / playback conjuction?

I know the CPU has always explosion before the Terratec not saturated. In reading, there's not much choice, it's 3 max Thor (analog line in, microphone and line in digital). But in practice, only one (I have trouble enough already play an instrument time).

What I like most:

What I like least:
- As a PCI card (internal), it was lots of noise through headphones (noise records, etc. ...). It does not appear when we export the mix on eg an MP3 player, but it agaant.
- The low quality of the prampli between micro (especially on a map of this level): this adds a package of breath and is de facto unusable.

What I regret:
- The lack of XLR connectors (but is found on the USB version postrieure).

The report qualitprix is ​​more than correct. Even if it seemed expensive (especially the era), it deserves far.

If I had to buy another today, it would be his little sister, the DMX 6 Fire USB - AFAIK - has corrected the default of his ancestor.

I would also add my turn, I am surprised by the lack of publicity given to these cards (the series of DMX 6 Fire), both given their remarkable quality and prices very reasonable . So much so that it is difficult to find in France and even Germany (though the country of manufacture).
