« Very good pedal, but ... »
Published on 12/06/13 at 05:38Hello,
The Electro-Harmonix 45000 Foot Controller is dedicated to the pedal looper EHX 45000. It reproduces some features of the front of the 45000, and adds two features that are missing from the front (yet essential): LOOP UP / DOWN LOOP.
It also adds a display to know on which loop you are.
Recall that the 45000 offers 100 loops chacunes composed of 4 tracks mono + 1 stereo track indépandantes.
I for 7 months now.
This pedal, like other EHX pedals is ultra strong. It is powered by the jack that connects to the looper, knowing that Jack is quite standard.
It is well designed, sturdy, well thought out, and I have no complaints apart from a few crashes that I watched after having heated the switches in muscular sessions (DOWN function remains active continuously all reverting to normal when the support of another button).
However, one can question the value of such a purchase.
Indeed, as has been so often discussed in the forum in 2880 and 45000, the looper is a bomb once used noon whether to sync with other devices or functions loop. EHX pedals and it is very limited in its functions, and not configurable. While a pedal noon kind FCB or Yamaha MFC etc ... allows all the madness! ... such direct access to the desired loop (without up / down), intro / verse / chorus / outro, mute / unmute tracks, solo, track volume pedals (5 pedals on the MFC), panoramic etc. ...
So basically, I would recommend a midi pedal, especially as found used for almost nothing ...
But beware! a midi pedal does not display the number of the current loop! ... (Although you can tweak stuff for it, like Arduino, Raspery ...)
So if you need to display => EHX, otherwise => noon.
For my part, it is both ...
