    Purchase Trash 2 or upgrade

iZotope TrashPublished on 02/11/13 at 22:14
iZotope Trash runs smoothly on my Macbook and Laptop. My Macbook is running 10.5 and PC Laptop is running Windows 7. I have heard in the past that there are a lot of people complaining of issues when using with Windows but it has worked fine for me in Ableton Live. Now I am using Trash v2 because I upgraded the original version and it still runs great. The original install of Trash was pretty quick, I downloaded it right online after I completed payment and even the update that I did last year was just as easy and only took a few minutes to get version 2 installed.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Using iZotope Trash is pretty simple but from time to time I did have to go look at the manual just to make sure I didn’t waste a lot of time “trying” to figure stuff out instead of just looking up what I needed to know so I wouldn’t waste a minute. Trash 2 has given me some really good distortions to add to my tracks, I am a distortion junkie and it was one of the main reason I decided to purchase Trash. I was using Guitar Rig for some distortions but Trash works a lot better to me.

    OVERALL OPINION

It is also very easy to work with distortion and filters/delays in Trash 2 now and with the built in limiter it does a great job from “overdoing” it to my speakers and to me ears. I have found myself using Trash 2 more and more, and now it gets used in every song. Trash has become a key component to my musical creativity and workflow so I make sure that I have it with me on my Macbook everywhere. I do wish there was a way that I could run it remotely or from a USB drive so when I am not working on my Macbook and a studio I can still run it because it is what I am most comfortable with. There are some great distortions in the studio that I go to but I just so comfortable with iZotope Trash/Trash 2 I don’t ever want to use anything else.

No problem with installation. I use it in Sonar 2.x DX.
Doc at Izotope tlchargment cot provides plug-in tutorial / preset for each instrument that can be related to Trash: guitar, bass, drum and keyboard.

As stated in the notice Previous, these manuals are didactics trs trs quickly and we understand the operation

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Compared to the opinion that I share prcedent compltement I should add that trash is more than a amp simulator. For my part I'm really not a fan of modlisation and type product even if Amplitube simulations suggested that sound good but I find always the same whatever the rglage utiliss. Trash is just the opposite, it is a tool to tamper with the sound and the possibilities are standard.
Effect on the level of dynamic processors (compreseur, gate, ...), a pre filter, the distos, a post filter, an amp simulator and a section of time limit.
The modlisation amp is therefore a part of trash.
Thus it can be used for other instruments like the bass but also the drum or keyboard.
Just Tlcharger the demo and preset supplmentaires to realize standards possibility to the tool.
One last point, the possibilities in clean (no distortion) are also trs INTERESTED.

At it' irrprochable quality at all effects. Particularly at modlisations are trs Varis, the filters are trs pousss sections while remaining very easy to ACCS.

Cot CPU, I have an Athlon 1.8 Ghz consumes a plugin (without optimization) 20% of the CPU and each plugin supplmentaire consumes roughly 10% more. Config is a good ncessaire.

    OVERALL OPINION

Izotope dvelopp REALLY have a good product trs this is in his, and hergonomie possbilits.
Considering the price, is trying to adopt.

Installing a simplicity disarmament ... RAS

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Trash and Amplitube I have recently. I have not really had time to compare them point by point. Some comments nanmoins:
    - User Manual: 10 pages Amplitube, Trash 59 pages. In addition to the Trash wants trspdagogique,
    - Interface: if Amplitube is pretty with its colors, ergonomics is more than limit (virtual buttons turn etc.). Trash .... you click, you select and walking,
    - Sound: from what I have heard that it's close enough,
    - A last but not least: I think Trash is less intensive and takes less RAM on the CPU.

    OVERALL OPINION

Excellent price quality ratio, trs easy to use.

No problem for installation. The buttons at the bottom are handy, it enables or disables it. Nothing wrong.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

In fact, for my part I use it only for the simulation of HP, because I am using the v-amp 2. If RULES 2 well the sound is stunning, I made a preset Petrucci and it's amazing. Registration is on top. I dare not even imagine the sound can be achieved with a tri axis.
In fact I recommend everyone who has a super prampli or even a v-amp 2 multi-effects or other use Iz trash to simulate the Hp and register.

    Very easy. Like all plugin

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

    Trs stable, not too greedy

    OVERALL OPINION

EXTRA ... far ahead of products like Guitar Rig or Amplitude2 .. it is a vritable amp simulator and sounds are bluffing. With good effects you have a guitar, the sound color you want, high quality (for the numrique) for a semi-pro recording.

    REQUIRED, I can do without!

There were no compatibility issues with this plugin and my Macbook running Logic 9 and Ableton 7.
The manual is clear enough, and if you haven't used any of IZotope's plugins, it doesn't hurt to reference it to get used to the interface.  Its not a hard interface to use, its just that it has its own style and can be a little confusing at times.
Once you get used to it though, its pretty simple and easy to use.
Yes, the typical functions are fairly accessible.  At first I would get confused how to navigate the whole interface, but the learning curve is not too bad.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Trash has worked flawlessly time and time again inside of Logic and Ableton.  It is very stable and has had no audio problems or crashes.
It does what its supposed to do which is give you a large collection of Distortion presets and great tools to design your own.  Because of that, I give it a 10 out of 10.
I have been using this plugin for about 9 months.  I got it about the same time as I got Schaak Audio's Transient Shaper and I find myself using them together to get really really dirty crunchy sounds.

    OVERALL OPINION

What I like the most is that this is the best Distortion plugin I have ever used.  You can tweak the crap out of it and get some amazing distortion sounds with a wide range of usage.  It also has a bunch of modeled sounds ranging from actual amps to actual effects that are really nice.
What I don't like about this device?  Well, not really anything.  Its a great tool and a necessity for those wanting a myriad of Distortion sounds and amp/cabinet models.  I really enjoy this plugin overall.  It produces some very convincing distortion sounds that most people will believe you got from hardware gear.  The overall quality is definitely a 10 out of 10.  It can go from dark and muddy crunch to brittle and piercing sparkle.
I have used a lot of different distortion plugins including the ones in Logic 9, Ableton 7 and D16 Devestator.  The only one that can truly share the stage with Trash is the D16.   But Trash whens overall due to the vast amount more of options.
Yes, I would definitely purchase this plugin again.  Its a must have for any person who likes using computer audio.

This software installed without any problems. I had no compatibility issues with my computer. It was extremely easy to set up and to use right off the bat. Izotope gives you a very thorough and clear manual though, for the more advanced features. Izotope definitely lays out their software in a very user friendly way though, so most things are easy to figure out on your own. Installation took maybe 10 minutes and then I was already using it.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I have a Dell computer with an intel processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM, and I use it with cubase. It works perfectly in this configuration since it is a vst plug-in. However it comes in many other formats as well, so I would assume that very few people would have any compatibility issues at all. It does not use very much processor power, which is interesting because it can change the sound so much. This has never crashed on my computer, so I would say it is very stable.

    OVERALL OPINION

I have had this plug-in for over a year now. I love the variety of great, messed up sounds you can get with this. I have put this plug-in on a lot of different things: drums, guitars, vocals, bass guitar even. If you cycle through the presets it's easy to find an interesting sound and then tailor it to what you want in your song. My least favorite thing about it is that unfortunately a lot of the sounds are TOO messed up, and I can hardly imagine how you can fit it into any song. But then again - that is just my opinion. The other thing is that it can end up sounding very digital sometimes, and it can be hard to blend it with other things in a song that may have been recorded with a microphone. I still love this program though, it has helped me get a lot of unique sounding things done in my home studio for a great price. It is definitely a very good value for a software that even the pros use. I would get it again, it's really fun to use.
