GarageBand and Logic Pro X users can download for free a limited standalone version of the MIDI Guitar plug-in.
MIDI Guitar allows for converting the audio signal from your guitar to MIDI data so that you can control your virtual instruments.
JamOrigin recently launched a free standalone version of MIDI Guitar for use with GarageBand and Logic Pro X on Mac OS X.
This version does not include the advanced features of the full MIDI Guitar pack, it can only host AU plug-ins and JamOrigin adds that the latency is slightly higher than on the plug-in edition.
MIDI Guitar for GarageBand is available for free at the AppStore. You can then unlock the full version via in-app purchase, price is €/$ 39.99.
