The process of installing the URS Saturation 2 was pretty quick and definitely easy from start to finish.  It only took about three minutes and I was able to use the plug-in right after installing it.  The interface of the software is one of the best parts about this plug-in because it is really basic and easy to follow.  The plug has knobs for input and output levels as well as one for saturation and a slider to set the level of the mix.  There is also a meter for both input and output level.  I've never seen the manual for the URS Saturation 2 so I can't say if it would be helpful to have or not.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The URS Saturation 2 has always run smoothly in my set up since day one.  I tend to only run one or two of these at a time in a session and I would imagine that most people don't use too many of them at a time either.  I am running the plug-in on a Mac Book Pro that has a 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB of RAM.  I run the plug-in in Pro Tools LE 7.4 that runs off of a Digi 002R audio interface.  I've never had a problem running a few of these at a time within the configuration, but how many you can run and how well they will run depends mostly on what type of configuration you are running the software in.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had the URS Saturation 2 for about a year and I'm definitely glad to have the plug-in in my arsenal.  Like I said before, it isn't a plug that I use all that often, but when I want to add a bit of drive or beef to a guitar or a vocal, this definitely comes in handy.  The user friendly nature of the plug-in makes it an easy one to use and it is always easy to dial in the sound that I am looking for.  However, there is only so much warmth you can get with a plug-in, so keep that in mind while using this plug-in.  I'm a huge fan of URS plug-ins and I would definitely recommend this to those looking for a tube saturation overdrive plug-in.
