Made in China and tested in the USA.
12 frets, round neck, metal guitar, (there was no microphone in the one I tried). Regularly presented as the alternative to the national, but I have not at all had the same feeling trying!

UTILIZATION

Seeking a resonator, I am not well documented. I got interested in guitars Republic, but I wanted to try before you buy. It's hard when you're in Europe, because there is not, to my knowledge, non-US distributor.

But I finally got the opportunity to try a used a luthier.

cettte have occasion to try and compare three instruments: a Résolian metal, but also a National Resophonic Style O (12 frets) and a Dobro.

I found quite unpleasant to play Résolian as set incorrectly (I said I attach great importance to be able to play in picking and slide guitar on this kind). In short it does not me at all "talking". Maybe the copy he was set incorrectly, but good for a guitar from 1000 euros new (when shipping include) and 600 euros used, I find it really limits.

By comparison, the national NRP was 1000 times nicer (although it's not the same price, but it's not the same world not in terms of finish, fun game and sound quality)

SOUNDS

Again very disappointed. In fact the instrument is very sound, it certainly makes a lot of noise, but not very late. It's a little nag for my style of play.

By comparison, the NRP was much more enjoyable to play and especially more delicate and subtle.

OVERALL OPINION

I decided to wait and put some money aside to buy a National NRP.

I also tried new metal reso including Gretsch, who seemed much more convincing than the Résolian for a lower price.
Maybe I have come down on a model that had not aged well, but I have not at all been packed.
