I recall that the beak of a sax or clarinet makes a sound, but in any case one should buy a beak of a particular brand for sound!!
The sound is made by the player at 95%.
Always remember that Marcel MULE played a very long metal mouthpiece Selmer for classical and even beak is wanted for jazz by some today to M.BRECKER played on a Selmer C * very long yet it is recognized be a great jazzman.
